If you choose the resort of Escaldes-Engordany for your vacation, you will have access to the Grandvalira ski area, the largest in the Pyrenees and one of the top 20 in Europe. It includes the Encamp, Canillo, El Tarter, Soldeu, and Pas de la Casa Grau Roig sectors. On the territory of 1,926 hectares, there are 118 tracks with a total length of more than 200 kilometers: 21 green, 42 blue, 30 red, and 25 black. There are four FIS-certified stadiums. Transportation of athletes is provided by 64 elevators with a capacity of 100,700 people per hour.
Three fan parks await freestyle fans: El Tarter, Xavi Grau Roig, and El Peretol (night). In Pas de la Casa, there is a boardercross course. In unfavorable weather conditions, snow cannons are activated, which can provide coverage for 65% of the resort's slopes.
For those learning to ski, there are seven schools with 400 professional instructors on staff. Parents of the youngest guests of the resort have six kindergartens, four clubs for kids, and three "froggy" areas where you can safely introduce your child to skiing.
If you arrive by private car, you can leave it in one of 14 parking lots (10 of them are open-air, and 4 are covered).
