Grenoble is located in the valley of the Isère River, still and at the intersection of three snow-capped mountain ranges: "Vercors", "Beldon" and "Chartreuse". Today Grenoble is a major industrial, university and scientific center of the Alps.
Grenoble is the birthplace of the famous writer Stendhal. One of Grenoble's universities is even named in his honor.
But not everything is as boring as it looks at first glance. Here you can make a foray into the mountains, and then dine on a local dish called "gratin", the recipe of which is kept in strict secrecy. Afterwards, mingle with the student crowd, of which there are many in Grenoble. And also drink good wine and nibble real walnuts. Then on a hot summer day swim in a mountain lake with ice-cold water.
And after such a fun trip to sit in some pub in the evening and over a mug of beer deepen into philosophical reflections. Or talk to specialists who work in local high-tech enterprises.
In general, Grenoble today is one of the most beautiful cities in France. Its special beauty is given by snow-capped peaks of the Alps, which seem to protect Grenoble.
