Aqaba's coastline offers numerous clean and comfortable beaches with a gradual and gentle entry into the water. While most of these beaches are associated with Aqaba's hotels, they are open to the public, and anyone can enjoy them. Moving from the northern to the southern end of the city, you'll notice the sandy shores gradually giving way to rocky terrain. To the south, you'll find the renowned coral reefs that have made Aqaba a popular tourist destination. Diving enthusiasts will find Aqaba particularly appealing, as the city boasts around 30 dive sites. This diversity has led to the establishment of six diving centers in the area. These centers employ instructors who adhere to international standards and offer training for both novice and experienced divers. Each diving center often has its unique diving site nearby, which they organize excursions to. Apart from diving and beaches, Aqaba is home to an ancient fortress and museums with intriguing historical exhibits. Don't forget to visit the aquarium at the research station, where you can get a closer look at the fascinating underwater creatures of the Red Sea.
