Encounter at the End of the World, 2007

This documentary by German director Werner Herzog is about Antarctica. The film is not so much about the magical landscapes and nature of the country as about the people who live there and, despite everything, love the harsh icy land.

In search of interesting stories Werner Herzog went to the Antarctic station McMurdo, where just over 1000 people work. Among them are philosophers, bankers and even movie makers who once went to Antarctica to devote their lives to it and the company.

"Encounter at the End of the World" is an interesting, humorous documentary, but some moments give you the chills.

Life in one day

"Life in One Day" - is a joint production special project of Ridley Scott and video hosting YouTube. Materials for the movie were provided by Internet users. On July 24, 2010, people from 192 countries sent videos about their day. From 80,000 clips, the creators selected the best excerpts and made a documentary about one day in the life of the planet.

The narrative of people separately is combined, and then forms a story about the life of humanity as a whole. Funny and sad, tragic and optimistic - the lives of people from different countries have much more in common than we all realize.

Our Planet, 2019

You've watched all the programs about animal life and think there's nothing to surprise you in general? Pfft. You just haven't watched Our Planet from Netflix yet. This documentary series is the best cinematic journey to the wilderness.

Its creators managed to show familiar situations and animals in such a way that while watching you forget to drink your tea and sincerely empathize with the characters. You laugh when birds dance ridiculously, marvel at the ingenuity of whales and cry when walruses die because of global warming.

This series is a filigree work, the project was prepared for 4 years by 600 members of several film crews in 50 countries.
