Bahrain World Trade Center

This pair of skyscrapers is a unique architectural structure 240 meters high.

The building was built on the shore of the Persian Gulf and incredibly successfully blended into the coastal landscape. Now the two silver towers, similar to a sail, are famous far beyond the borders of the kingdom. Inside there are offices, boutiques, restaurants. Panoramic elevators take visitors up to the 42nd floor.

Qalat al-Bahrain Fortress

Qalat-al-Bahrain is a fortification complex that was built more than five thousand years ago and has been preserved almost in its original form. The buildings are made in different styles and differ in purpose - now scientists have discovered temples, residential structures, places of public meetings and analogs of barracks. It is confirmed that earlier this monument of Bahrain was a Portuguese port through which merchant ships passed.

To this day, the UNESCO-protected site is still undergoing archaeological excavations, so some areas are closed to tourists. However, the part set aside for eager travelers is definitely worth seeing.

Tree of Life

The Shajarat al-Hayat or Tree of Life is a tree that is about 400 years old. It is remarkable for growing in the midst of the desert all alone.

The place is covered with numerous legends and speculations. The tree is considered to be the last tree of the Garden of Eden and it is believed that its roots are fed by an underground river. It is undeniable that a lonely, sprawling, giant tree on the background of a desert landscape creates a surprisingly beautiful picture.

Al-Jasrah House

One of the main attractions in Bahrain is the royal summer house. This is where the current emperor of Bahrain was born. The building is not only beautiful, but also interesting for its traditional architecture. Local materials were used in its construction: coral, gypsum, and palm trunks.

National Museum of Bahrain

The National Museum, located in the capital of the kingdom, is considered the oldest museum institution in the country. It started working in 1988, today the collection includes thousands of exhibits telling about the centuries-old history of Bahrain.

The total area of the National Museum is more than 27,000 m2. It includes 9 large exhibition halls, auxiliary rooms for lectures and other events, souvenir stores and a café for visitors.

In the center of Manama, the capital of Bahrain, there is a house that looks very much like a mosque. In fact, it is a museum complex entirely dedicated to the main book of Muslims - the Koran. Its construction lasted for 6 years, from 1984 to March 1990. The unique museum center is built in traditional Islamic architecture.

Ancient manuscripts from the holy cities of Islam are exhibited in the expositions of the museum. There are rarities from Medina and Mecca from the 7th century. Rare printed copies from the 17th century of Germanic origin. Of particular interest is the first very ancient copy of a religious book written in the 500s AD.

Al-Fatiha Mosque

Al-Fatiha Mosque is among the largest temples in the world. In Bahrain, it is the largest religious site, accommodating up to 7,000 visitors.

The complex includes two monumental minarets and the building of the National Library, open to all comers. The temple is famous for its glass dome. It is made of fiberglass and weighs up to 60 tons.

Becoming the first mosque in the world to admit foreigners, this temple has only increased its popularity.

Riffa Fortress

This fortress served as the residence of the rulers of the Al Khalifa dynasty and the capital of Bahrain until 1896. In 1993, the Riff Fort was restored and opened to tourists.

Fort Salman bin Ahmet Al Fateh, as the fortress is also called, is characterized by its majestic architecture, which invariably fascinates tourists. The powerful walls of the fort with tall warlike towers on the corners can be seen from afar.

Bahrain Grand Prix Circuit

The international circuit for Formula 1 drivers is located 30 km south of Manama and runs through the Sakhir Desert. The Bahrain Grand Prix circuit was built in 2004, when the island won the competition for the right to host the prestigious race.

The autodromes are covered with a special compound based on coarse sand shipped from England. Racers appreciate these tracks for their high level of grip. Since 2014, the night race of the Bahrain Grand Prix has been held. The autodrome can accommodate 45,000 spectators, and an 8-story VIP tower for honored guests has been built on the track.

Royal Camel Farm

A visit to the Royal Camel Farm is ideal for a family trip. It is located on the outskirts of Muharraq, Bahrain's second largest city.

The farm is home to around 500 camels. Most of them are racing, but riding is not allowed. Camels are very friendly animals and reach out with their heads to people to be petted and scratched behind the ears. The zoo staff also give out bottles of milk to feed the little pets.

Al Arin National Park

Al Arin National Park is located 27 kilometers from Manama. It covers an area of 8 hectares, which is not much, but guests can admire numerous representatives of fauna and flora of the entire island.

The scale of diversity of the park's inhabitants is impressive - more than 500 rare animals. Among them: Arabian oryx, desert porcupines, wild camels, Persian gazelles.

King Fahd Bridge

The King Fahd Bridge is the largest road crossing structure in the region by length, connecting the country to Saudi Arabia. Spanning 25 kilometers, the bridge, named after one of the rulers of a neighboring state, cost more than $1.2 billion, with local authorities not participating in the financing of this monument to Bahrain (Saudi Arabia paid for everything).

In fact, this bridge is a grandiose complex of dams and bridges, consisting of three structural elements, all together making an unforgettable impression.

Banni Jamran Village

To the northeast of the capital of Bahrain there is a small but very cozy and beautiful settlement. It is the village of Bani Jamran, and in the past it was considered a center of traditional weaving.

With the country's discovery of oil deposits, the enthusiasm for the development of this occupation on the part of the country began to fade. Of the more than a hundred weaving workshops in this village, about a dozen remain today. However, they still weave incomparable traditional black colored cloaks for women and excellent sarongs for men. Another attraction of Bani Jamran village is the ancient mosque.

Othari Park

This beautiful amusement and amusement park is considered one of the main attractions of the kingdom. It was laid in 2003 in the district of Zinj - on the site of the ancient oasis of Ain. Its area is 165 thousand square meters.

Bahrain Gate

Bahrain Gate is a historic structure in the city's business district.

The gate was built in 1945 and used to be considered the main entrance to Manama, but after the emergence of new neighborhoods, the gate was surrounded by urban development on all sides.
