Nuremberg Fortress

The austere and austere Nuremberg Fortress is a complex of defenses that includes the Burggrave Fortress, the Imperial Castle and the Imperial City Fortress.

It is one of the city's trademarks, so although the fortress is far away from Nuremberg hotels, it is worth coming here to see the beauty for yourself. There is an observation deck on the tower of the castle, which offers stunning views of Nuremberg and the surrounding area.

Market Square

Well, where would we be without the classics that are typical of most large European cities? The market square in Nuremberg dates back to the 14th century. To this day, all important city events are still held here.

And the main attraction of the square is the Schöner Brunnen, which you must have seen on the photos of Nuremberg sights. This amazing, created from tiers of sculptures, 19-meter fountain was built in the XIV century.

On Christmas Eve, festive fairs open in the Market Square and the surrounding houses are decorated with bright garlands.

St. Lawrence Church

One of the most interesting medieval churches of the city, among the first in Germany, became Lutheran.

Evidence of the church's construction in the XIII century has survived, but the building of the XV century in the Gothic style has survived to our days. This church is considered to be the most beautiful shrine of Nuremberg. The interiors are painted by local artists A. Kraft, P. Fischer and F. Stoss, and the exterior and interior decoration of the building takes your breath away.

Albrecht Dürer House Museum

The home of the famous 15th-century Nuremberg woodcut master who made an invaluable contribution to Western European art during the Renaissance.

The building that houses the Albrecht Dürer House-Museum was reportedly built as early as 1420. Albrecht Dürer owned the house until 1528, after which it changed owners many times.

The museum was organized here at the end of the XIX century. It managed to avoid serious destruction during the war, so nowadays visitors can see the original historical setting.

German National Museum

The largest museum in Germany, founded in the middle of the XIX century in the walls of a former monastery.

The collection of this museum has up to 1.3 million exhibits and covers the entire history of the German peoples from antiquity to the present day. There are paintings, sculptures, tools, musical instruments, ancient globes and clocks, weapons, scientific instruments, items of applied art and much more. Palace of Justice

The famous building where the Nuremberg trials of the leaders of Nazi Germany were held in 1946.

The palace was built in the early 20th century. It was chosen for the trial of Hitler's associates for a reason — regular congresses of the Nazi party were held here. Nuremberg in its time was even called "the city of party congresses of the Third Reich". Hall No. 600, where the historical process took place, has been open to the public since 2000.

Toy Museum

At first glance harsh and known for cruel milestones of history Nuremberg, in fact, has quite the opposite side. The best way to experience the city's contrasts is at the giant Toy Museum. It's a fitting attraction given its 600-year tradition of toy making and the fact that the city hosts an annual International Toy Fair.

Housed in a bagatelle-adorned historic building, the city's Toy Museum is one of the most famous in the world for its vast, priceless collection. Also known as the Lydia Bayer Museum, it was originally established as a small private institution by a couple who began collecting toys back in the 1920s. Currently, the museum has around 12,000 toys in its permanent collection.

NSDAP Convention Grounds

Under the Third Reich, Nuremberg was almost Hitler's and his party associates' favorite city. NSDAP congresses were constantly held here, Nazi troops marched through the squares, and the streets were covered with red flags with black swastikas.

At the end of the first decade of the XXI century the territory of the congresses was turned into an open-air museum. Its base is a documentary center. At each of the structures of historical interest there is a stationary museum stand with photographs reflecting the view of the structure in the era of the Third Reich.

City Park

A small cozy park, a place for quiet rest, meetings, walks and contemplation of nature. If, after a few days in the bustling city, you want to escape for a while and wrap yourself in peace, go here.

The park's infrastructure is well suited for leisurely strolls, and the territory itself is buried among greenery and sprinkled with small ponds.

Nassau House

The 12th century medieval tower is considered the oldest structure in Nuremberg. The upper tiers were built later — in the 15th century. The architects of the building took the residential towers of Italy as a model for their project. In those distant centuries, such houses were inhabited by the city aristocracy. The building belonged to different families, the last owners were representatives of the Schlusselfelder family.
