The Sea of Japan is not only a wonderful vacation destination, but also a unique cultural treasure trove. Here you can get into the atmosphere of Japanese history and traditions by visiting ancient temples and shrines located on the seashore and, of course, give yourself to a measured beach relaxation.
Kamakura
Kamakura is a relatively small by local standards, but a very important city for the Japanese. Once it was the capital of the country, and today it attracts Buddhist pilgrims from all over the world. Many ancient temple complexes have been preserved here, which anyone can visit.
The city also performs a resort function, because it is spread on the shores of Sagami Bay, which is part of the Pacific Ocean.
The resort is surrounded by forests, thanks to which a unique climate, useful for health, was formed here. There are only three beaches here, but it is quite enough for a good rest. The most famous of them is Yuigahama, from where in summer evenings you can see fireworks in the sky above the city. Inamuragasaki is where you come to enjoy the sunset, while Shichirigahama is ideal for surfing and other water sports.
