Plitvice Lakes
Plitvice Lakes are an oasis of unspoiled nature among mountains covered with dense forests. There are 16 beautiful lakes with clear emerald water, which are connected by foamy cascades and thundering waterfalls, including the largest waterfall in Croatia!
In 1949, Plitvice Lakes received the status of a national park, and in 1979, by decision of UNESCO, the park was included in the list of world natural monuments. Due to its unique beauty, rich flora and fauna, the Plitvice Lakes Nature Park is among the most beautiful sights in all of Europe.
Diocletian's Palace (Split)
Another equally amazing and ancient city in Croatia goes by the name of Split. Its main tourist attraction is a unique architectural monument of the Roman Empire, built by Emperor Diocletian. Palace, which has entered the UNESCO heritage list.
The building is well preserved and occupies a huge area of 3 hectares. Behind the fortress walls, life goes on. There are cafes, hotels waiting for tourists, local stores sell a lot of souvenirs and good things.
According to legend, Diocletian ordered to start work on the palace just before his abdication. It should be noted that the emperor loved and appreciated luxury. The last years of his life were spent in the most comfortable conditions, he lived surrounded by exquisite interiors filled with expensive decor and luxury.
