The city of Ushuaia
Founded as a penal colony in the early 20th century, the southernmost city in the world now serves as the main starting point for trips to Antarctica.
Ushuaia is surrounded by a unique landscape of mountains, glaciers and forests, making it very beautiful and photogenic.
Buenos Aires Botanical Gardens
The Botanical Garden of Buenos Aires, which has graced the Argentine capital for almost a century and a quarter, has one touching feature. Even, rather, not a peculiarity, but an unusual additional purpose: for many decades it has served as a shelter for abandoned domestic cats, which come here themselves in search of food and protection.
The garden's employees treat and vaccinate the animals on a voluntary basis and help them find new homes. So people come here not only to admire the lush vegetation, sculpture and landscape design, executed in three styles at once - and the garden is really very beautiful - but also to find a new furry friend.
Recoleta Cemetery
When rich and famous Argentines go into eternity, they do it beautifully. Because on their final journey they go to Recoleta, one of the most unusual cemeteries in the world.
There are 6400 grandiose mausoleums reminiscent of Gothic chapels, Greek temples, grottoes and elegant villas. The exclusive cemetery is the final refuge for presidents, generals and great artists. But not only that. Recoleta is also one of the main attractions of Buenos Aires, a real city of the dead, where each crypt holds its own story.
