To bring you up to speed, we've compiled a list of the most popular low-cost airports in Europe and gathered all the transfer options from them.

4 tips for budget travelers

  • If you're not inclined to pay for a taxi or transfer, check the bus/train schedules before buying a plane ticket. It may turn out, for example, that there are no transportation options available at night, and you'll have to book a hotel room near the airport (many terminals close until morning after midnight), which entails additional expenses.
  • Read the descriptions of fares offered by your chosen carrier: discounts are often available when purchasing online, as well as when buying a round-trip ticket. Discounts may be available for children, students, seniors, and for those traveling in large groups (10 or more people).
  • Tickets for early morning bus trips (e.g., at 5 a.m.) are sometimes 2-3 times cheaper than daytime fares.
  • If you're traveling in a large group, find out the cost of renting a car or booking a private transfer. Often, this is cheaper than using public transportation.
