Guide to Boracay

Boracay Virtual Tour

Sometimes it seems that the smaller a tropical island is, the more proudly it shows itself to tourists. It's hard to say what Boracay doesn't have. It is easier to tell about what is here.

And there are impeccable white beaches, cozy and blown by hot winds bungalows, small comfortable hotels, restaurants, and cafes, from which you do not want to leave until you do not finish listening to this ... this ... and more this tune ...

There are sea depths, so attractive for fans of diving. There are winds, thanks to which light-winged windsurfers take the cream off the wave. Other water sports are also available here. It's hard to resist because the waves, wind, and azure depths beckon visitors all year round.

And if the hustle and bustle do not attract you, it is enough to find a cozier lagoon, get on a bright beach, and hide under a beach umbrella from civilization and its delights. Boracay gives such an opportunity.

There is something to see here if you are interested in nature and its treasures. To walk around the island, to get acquainted with its exhibitions and museums you can also quite manage. In general, all the charms of a tropical vacation are on this Philippine island.

Tours to Boracay

Those who are tired of the hustle and bustle but don't want to indulge in beach "relaxation" alone are looking not just to the Philippines, but to the island of Boracay. It combines the opportunity to escape the rush with the chance to have fun to rousing music under the stars and the moon. The best Boracay tours manage to offer both.

Bars and restaurants, discos, and cozy cafes alternate with white-sand beaches. Many people love it. To save money and get the full experience, opt for hot trips, the easiest way to budget for the fun.

In Boracay, you'll find affordable rooms and comfortable bungalows, inexpensive restaurants, and simple but enjoyable marine activities like diving and sailing. If the cost of a regular tour can exceed 1500 USD, the price of a hot trip falls to 1000-1100 USD.

For this amount, you can easily reach your desired destination, and your vacation will be rich and special. No contradictions here! This is the lovely Philippine island of Boracay, where you can combine the pleasant laziness of the beaches, a sun-kissed tan, the azure waves, and the energetic fun of disco parties.

Flight ticket prices

The nearest airport (Caticlan) is "across the road", i.e. across the strait, on the neighboring island of Panay. You won't find direct flights here; you have to go through Manila. But even to Manila, as it is right, there are one or two connections. Flights to the capital of the Philippines will cost you at least 580-600 USD, while the flight to Caticlan can cost 800 USD and more. However, the majority of people choose the latter option, as from there the resort is just a short distance away - just cross the strait by boat. Tickets are about the same all year round, except that in late summer there is a downturn in tourism and prices may drop slightly.

The best hotels in Boracay

Before you make your choice, do your research. The number of stars here doesn't always correspond to the quality of service, but even the most basic three-star hotels offer a decent vacation. But they are economical, and rooms here can cost up to 12 USD. It is better to choose hotels of higher level with rates from 25 USD. In this case you will probably get the best conditions. If you are interested in real luxury, there are such hotels here. However, they are traditionally more expensive - from 120 USD and more. So it all depends on you, you can save money, or you can afford a good stay for little money.

The cost of vacation

Due to the serious price range, three or four days of vacation spent on this island can cost guests 400-600 USD, not counting, of course, the flight. And together with it, you will spend about 1000-1100 USD on your vacation. There are a lot of cheap bungalows, and you can eat in cafes quite inexpensively. Most of all you will need money for entertainment, which here is a great variety. So if you are ready to spend 50-100 USD a day in cafes and restaurants, clubs and stores, you can do it here. Well, and saving money is also quite possible. Diving, surfing and other water sports, equipment rent is also paid - from 30 USD per day

Airports near Boracay

The nearest airport is on the neighboring, much larger island of Panay. The airport is called Caticlan, code MPH. From there to Boracay is a couple of kilometers, the pier and jetty are very close, and a huge number of people willing to take you to the island will be in front of your eyes. Many people prefer to fly to Manila and from there get "on their own" by land and water. But via Caticlan is definitely faster and more convenient, although more expensive.

Airport transfers to Boracay

If you've made it to Caticlan on Panay, all you have to do is follow the signs and head towards the piers. There, boats will be waiting for you, either owned by your hotel and will provide a shuttle service, or they will be offered to you by locals. The cost of transportation can vary from 100-150 PHP for the right to swim across a strait a few hundred meters wide, or 500-1000 PHP for the opportunity to get to your hotel. Numerous tricycles ride along the shores of the island.

Car rental in Boracay

It doesn't make much sense to take a car on such a small island. Bicycles and motorcycles are preferred. The latter can be rented, although they are quite expensive, starting at PHP 500 for a couple of hours, i.e. from 10 USD. The roads are not too good and congested. It will be more convenient to use public tricycles.

Boracay Public Transportation

First and foremost are boats and tricycles. Boat transportation will take you to your desired destination by sea, take you to any of the beaches, caves and islets near Boracay. The cost ranges from PHP 100 to PHP 500. Tricycles cost PHP 10-30, but they can get you anywhere on the island by land.

Safety in Boracay

It's quite a safe place, especially as everyone knows each other on such a small island. There are also police, who are friendly and helpful. You should be wary of petty pickpocketing, as everywhere else, and don't leave valuables unattended on the beach. Otherwise, this island is a model of calm and comfort.
