Ski Vacation
In and around the city, you'll find a total of nine ski areas, offering approximately 300 kilometers of slopes. Within the city limits, you'll discover the Nordkette area, while to the south, cable cars lead to Pacherkofel (featuring slopes for all levels, with a special appeal to beginner skiers) and Tulfes. To the west of these villages lies Mutters, known for its predominantly red and blue runs.
Further west from the town, you'll encounter Axams, serving as the starting point for the ascent to the slopes of Axamer-Litzum, one of central Tyrol's primary skiing destinations. Continuing westward, there's Kühtai (Austria's highest mountain resort, with snow until May) and Rangger Köpfl, where the slopes are mostly red, albeit short, with unique terrain and even a night skiing area.
For families with kids, Innsbruck offers numerous ski-related activities, including an alpine zoo and the Kids-Arena in Nordkette.
