Bermuda Customs differs from European Customs in several ways.
1. What you can bring into Bermuda by air:
- Any amount of local and foreign currency, with a requirement to declare amounts over $10,000 USD
- For individuals over 18 years of age: 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, or 450g of tobacco
2. What is prohibited to bring into Bermuda:
- Narcotic and explosive substances, historical and cultural items, and weapons without appropriate permits from the Bermuda Police Department (must be arranged in advance)
- Harpoon guns for spearfishing
- Medicines containing narcotic substances without a notarized prescription certifying the need for their use
- Narcotic and explosive substances, historical and cultural items, and weapons without proper authorization from the Bermuda Police Department (must be obtained in advance)
3. What is prohibited to take out of Bermuda:
- Plants and fauna
- Living coral marine animals
- Objects recovered from the bottom of the sea
4. How much alcohol can be brought into Bermuda:
- Up to 0.94 liters of spirits and up to 0.94 liters of wine
- Up to 3 liters of any beverage
5. How much alcohol can be taken out of Bermuda:
- Up to 3 liters of any beverage
