August is the worst time of year to vacation in Cuba. Typhoons often join the downpours and accompanying heat and humidity. These surprises can wipe out beach vacations, and even surfers are forced to leave the sea.
In addition to temperatures around +35°C comes the season of mosquitoes, midges, and other blood-sucking insects. So the only way to stay in Cuba during a summer vacation is to wear repellent. If you add to that washed-out roads and the impossibility of excursions, the vacation is quite questionable.
