Airports in Uganda
Uganda has 13 airports among which 1 is an international airport. The rest of the air stations provide air connectivity between different regions of the country. All airports are located near major cities of Uganda: Kampala, Arua, Gulu and others.
Most air stations have comfortable waiting areas, VIP-lounges, stores, cafes and other infrastructure facilities. When planning the route of your trip, you should familiarize yourself with the location of airports on the map to choose the closest one to the necessary settlement.
Before traveling to Uganda, you should get all the necessary vaccinations and medical insurance. Tourists are recommended to travel around the country with an experienced guide, especially when visiting national parks and reserves. Demonstrations and public events should be avoided.
Uganda's largest airports
While planning a trip to the country, travelers may want to consider a list of its biggest air stations:
- Entebbe. Uganda's largest airport with international status. It is located in the town of Entebbe, on the shores of Lake Victoria. The air station serves Kampala - the capital of the country and is located 35 km from its center. Its annual passenger traffic is about 720 thousand passengers.
- Arua. The second busiest airport in Uganda. It serves about 180 flights per month. The airport terminal is located 3 km from the center of Arua.
- Gulu. Ugandan airport, acting as an important transportation hub for the northern regions of the country. It serves the city of Gulu and is 5 km from its center.
