Morzine is part of the Portes du Soleil ("Gate of the Sun"), a French-Swiss ski area with 12 locations. You can buy a ski pass covering all the ski resorts included in it, or limit yourself to Morzine only.
The Morzine-Les Gets area offers 66 slopes: 9 black, 28 red, 24 blue and 5 green. The resort is served by 46 elevators. The most interesting slope for professional athletes is Pointe de Nyon, but most extreme athletes prefer to ski in the vicinity of neighboring Avoriaz. For beginners the Pleney and Nyon sectors are ideal, where there are gentle and wide enough slopes. It is here that instructors of most ski schools of the resort conduct lessons.
On the slope of one of the mountains near Morzine there is a slalom stadium, where everyone is allowed. There are also regular shows and performances with the participation of athletes in ancient national costumes (often they use rare skis from the beginning of the last century).
If you want to enjoy off-piste skiing, go to Avoriaz. Nearby is the three-kilometer Snowzone, where you'll find untouched powder, ideal for freeride skiing.
