Guide to Ravello

One of the most unusual resorts in Italy - Ravello - is located on the slopes of the Lattari Mountains, at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level. The small town is located on a comfortable mountain terrace, away from megacities and crowds. Rest here is conducive to peace. No wonder the Romans once chose this place to build a city in order to protect it from barbarians and be able to live in peace.

Ravello has seen a lot in his lifetime. Once it was a prosperous city, first of the Western Roman Empire, then of the Maritime Republic of Amalfi, and after that of the Principality of Salerno. Until the Pisans destroyed the city in XII. After that, Ravello never regained its former greatness. Now about 2,500 people live in the city, not counting the annually arriving travelers.

The mixture of architectural styles in architecture has created an indescribable appearance of Ravello. Villa Rufolo, built in the 13th century, with wonderful gardens and Moorish architecture, has become the symbol of the city. Throughout the summer, an open-air Music Festival takes place here.
