The village of Gornja Lastva
The quaint village of Gornja Lastva, located near Tivat, is a magical countryside. This suburb, the first mention of which dates back to the 16th century, is located on a hillside, at an altitude of 300 meters. There is a village square, residential houses made of stone in a style characteristic of these places, the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and other historical buildings.
Tourists have the opportunity, without leaving the city, to immerse themselves in the village flavor. This village is especially popular in August, during the traditional festival. At this event, villagers familiarize tourists with their traditions, present folklore and treat them to national cuisine.
Tivat City Park
The park is a collection of plants from all over the world.
At first glance, the park does not stand out as anything outstanding or extraordinary: it is simply located in the immediate vicinity of Przno beach, and in the summer heat it is green and pleasant. There seems to be no special reason for tourists to visit the park, except for relaxing among the trees. But in fact there is such a reason: the park has the largest botanical garden in the Southern Adriatic. This is confirmed by the fact that officially the garden in Gradski Park owns a territory of 4 hectares.
Wanderer Sculpture
The Wanderer sculpture in Tivat adorns the pool of the Shore House Yacht Club on one of the piers of Porto Montenegro. It is a full-size copy of a statue by the Catalan Jaume Plensa, while the original stands on the bastion of Port Vauban in Antibes, France, the largest marina in the world.
A man sits on the shore with his arms around his knees pulled up to his chest, looking out to sea. He has no face, the surface of the 8-meter hollow figure is a lattice of letters of different alphabets carved from stainless steel and painted white.
Purabić Panoramic Pool
A modern attraction of Tivat is located on the territory of the fashionable complex Porto Montenegro. This 64-meter structure was designed by British architect Hywel Evans. The pool, which overhangs the Bay of Kotor, is often included in lists of the most beautiful European places.
There are sun loungers by the water, a Mediterranean restaurant and a bar offering signature cocktails. The Purabich Pool is an ideal place for tourists who want to take fantastic photos of the sunset over the Kotoros Bay.
St. Sava's Church
The Church of St. Sava is an Orthodox church named after one of the most revered saints in Montenegro. The Church of St. Sava, is the largest church in Tivat. It was erected from 1938 to 1967.
The church is decorated in neo-Byzantine style and is astonishing in its size. The interior decoration differs from the decoration of the Orthodox churches we are used to: everything is very modest, without excessive luxury and surprisingly beautiful.
