Buča Palace

Buča Palace is the historic summer residence of the Buča and Luković families, located in the center of Tivat. Although Tivat is much less famous for grandeur and sights compared to other cities on the Montenegrin coast, the palace is certainly worthy of a view.

In fact, this old castle is the central attraction of the city. Today, the palace has been turned into a cultural center with a gallery, a park, a cinema and an open-air summer theater. Art exhibitions, film screenings, literary evenings and theatrical performances are held here. There is also an Ethnographic Museum with free admission.

St. Mark's Island

St. Mark's Island is probably the most picturesque of the three islands of Tivat. This small piece of land with a nice beach is covered with greenery and pleasing to the eye; but not only with dense trees. In 1962, a kind of tourist village with five hundred Tahitian-style houses was built here. It became a kind of exclusive highlight of the local places.

The main contingent among the guests of the island is mainly young people - seekers of "lazy" adventures, who prefer to sunbathe and swim, alternating these activities with the enjoyment of water sports.

Flower Island

The second island of the Tivat archipelago is called the Island of Flowers. It is only 300 meters long and 200 meters wide. Earlier the island was covered with dense vegetation: olive trees, palm trees and flowering bushes, for which it got its name. In the Middle Ages, the monastery of St. Michael was destroyed here.

After the military conflict at the end of the last century and the resettlement of refugees, little of its former blooming splendor remains. Today, monks still live on the island and the old monastery buildings are gradually being restored.

The ruins of the monastery and the picturesque beach are the main attractions that attract tourists to Kvitov Island. There is also a café and a monastery store selling souvenirs.

Porto Montenegro

Porto Montenegro is a mooring place for yachts and a waterfront with many cafes and restaurants. Wide palm trees grow along the water, with expensive yachts somewhere on the horizon and beautiful mountains behind.

Plus, it's not just a luxury marina, it's Montenegro's most expensive marina. It is a city within a city, often referred to as the "Monaco of Montenegro". Many tourists claim that seeing Porto Montenegro in Tivati and walking around its grounds is like being in a fairy tale.

You can book a hotel in Tivati with a discount of up to -65% on the website.

Pina Promenade

Another promenade worth visiting in Tivat is Pina, where in summer you can see the majestic ship "Jadran", built in 1933.

The wide, landscaped promenade is the "highlight" and one of the main attractions of Tivat. Its spacious central part is known among locals and tourists as Pine. There are only palm trees and comfortable benches under them, where you can sit and admire the Boko-Kotor Bay and the mountains, look at the passing yachts, pleasure boats, sailboats, white multi-deck liners.

Horizonte beach

One of the most attractive places in the resorts of Montenegro is the Przno valley. Near it there is a magnificent beach Plavi Horizonti, which means blue horizons in Serbian. The beach got its name thanks to the hotel with the same name, near which it lies.

Horizonti beach is surrounded by olive and pine forests, which gives it a unique charm and picturesque appearance. The trees are very close to the beach - especially on hot days, their shade is ideal to escape the tiring sun.

Maritime Heritage Museum

The only place not only in Tivat, but in the whole of Montenegro, where you can see a real submarine from inside and learn more about the history of the region. Now there are 2 submarines in the museum, but entrance is allowed only to the boat "P-821 Heroj", which was used by the Yugoslav army.

The village of Gornja Lastva

The quaint village of Gornja Lastva, located near Tivat, is a magical countryside. This suburb, the first mention of which dates back to the 16th century, is located on a hillside, at an altitude of 300 meters. There is a village square, residential houses made of stone in a style characteristic of these places, the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and other historical buildings.

Tourists have the opportunity, without leaving the city, to immerse themselves in the village flavor. This village is especially popular in August, during the traditional festival. At this event, villagers familiarize tourists with their traditions, present folklore and treat them to national cuisine.

Tivat City Park

The park is a collection of plants from all over the world.

At first glance, the park does not stand out as anything outstanding or extraordinary: it is simply located in the immediate vicinity of Przno beach, and in the summer heat it is green and pleasant. There seems to be no special reason for tourists to visit the park, except for relaxing among the trees. But in fact there is such a reason: the park has the largest botanical garden in the Southern Adriatic. This is confirmed by the fact that officially the garden in Gradski Park owns a territory of 4 hectares.

Wanderer Sculpture

The Wanderer sculpture in Tivat adorns the pool of the Shore House Yacht Club on one of the piers of Porto Montenegro. It is a full-size copy of a statue by the Catalan Jaume Plensa, while the original stands on the bastion of Port Vauban in Antibes, France, the largest marina in the world.

A man sits on the shore with his arms around his knees pulled up to his chest, looking out to sea. He has no face, the surface of the 8-meter hollow figure is a lattice of letters of different alphabets carved from stainless steel and painted white.

Purabić Panoramic Pool

A modern attraction of Tivat is located on the territory of the fashionable complex Porto Montenegro. This 64-meter structure was designed by British architect Hywel Evans. The pool, which overhangs the Bay of Kotor, is often included in lists of the most beautiful European places.

There are sun loungers by the water, a Mediterranean restaurant and a bar offering signature cocktails. The Purabich Pool is an ideal place for tourists who want to take fantastic photos of the sunset over the Kotoros Bay.

St. Sava's Church

The Church of St. Sava is an Orthodox church named after one of the most revered saints in Montenegro. The Church of St. Sava, is the largest church in Tivat. It was erected from 1938 to 1967.

The church is decorated in neo-Byzantine style and is astonishing in its size. The interior decoration differs from the decoration of the Orthodox churches we are used to: everything is very modest, without excessive luxury and surprisingly beautiful.
