What's worth knowing about Sharjah's beaches?

  • In short, Sharjah is the anti-Dubai. A completely "dry" emirate where there is no alcohol, no hookah cafes and no revealing clothing is allowed. It is unrealistic to taste the sweet forbidden fruit here, which enlightens you and makes you open your eyes wider in search of other alternative entertainment.
  • Sharjah is the only emirate located on the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, while bordering Dubai. Life and hotels here are cheaper, and all the entertainment of the latter - literally "under the nose", so it is not surprising that, despite its conservatism, Sharjah enjoys continued popularity among tourists.
  • Beaches in Sharjah are divided into free public and complaining, belonging to hotels. Any of them can boast a smooth sandy surface, smooth entrance to the water, gentle bottom and cleanliness; the only differences are in the level of infrastructure and the amount of entertainment.
  • In September-October it is better to avoid contact with colored jellyfish and stingrays - they are poisonous at this time.
  • Every Monday on the beaches of Sharjah is "women's day": men are forbidden to appear on them. Women have their own restrictions: for example, they are not allowed to sunbathe topless.
  • Already in April, the air temperature rises to +32 degrees Celsius, and the sea warms up to +23 degrees Celsius. In summer the resort is hot (+45 degrees), but in winter it is quite fresh - +24 degrees.
  • In December and January there are rains (3-5 per month), and in spring there are sandstorms (they never last longer than a day). The classic season lasts from September to May, and for the period from June to August you can buy a hot tour to Sharjah.

Al Qornish Beach

Located near the center of Sharjah, Al Qornish is one of the most popular beaches in Sharjah, attracting tourists and locals alike.

The beach is still crowded on weekdays and weekends. However, this is not an inconvenience, as this beach occupies the entire coast and is considered one of the easiest beaches in the emirate. A feature that distinguishes it from its colleagues is a strip of palm trees separating the beach from the city. Here you can hide from the scorching sun and relax in the shade without renting an umbrella. Palm trees create a natural boundary, saving you from the noise and gassiness of the big city.

Like other Gulf beaches, Al Qornish is washed by friendly and safe waves. Only rarely there are underwater currents, about which the lifeguards warn vacationers in advance with special signs. The sand here is of two kinds - white (imported) and yellow, natural for this region. The beach is regularly cleaned and guarded.

Al-Shariqa Beach

When vacationing in Sharjah, it is impossible not to swim in the blue waters of the Persian Gulf and laze on its white beaches. The shoreline of Al-Shariqa Beach stretches from the Sheraton Hotel to a small bay bordering the Al Corniche Coast.

Thanks to the presence of breakwaters, the water here is calm. Children are very comfortable: the descent is gentle, the water is clean and the shore is covered with fine golden sand. The beach is quite spacious, but in order to hide in the shade of palm trees, it is better to come earlier. In general, the beaches of Sharjah are more crowded than in neighboring Dubai, as rest here is cheaper.

Infrastructure in the area of the beach is well developed: there is free parking, near cafes and restaurants. But there are no sun beds and umbrellas.
