Rotterdam

Rotterdam is a true kaleidoscope city, multifaceted and vibrant. Here you have high art, a bustling nightlife, shopping, and the working life of a port city. Futuristic architecture and traditional values — that’s what Rotterdam is all about.

Art lovers can spend an entire day moving from one museum to another, partygoers will find plenty of places to have fun, as there are many nightclubs here, and gourmets will be delighted to taste local culinary masterpieces in one of the city's restaurants.

What should you pay attention to in Rotterdam? The Kunsthal Museum, the Chabot Museum, the Cube Houses, the Maritime Museum, and the Schoonoord Park.

Delft

Delft is not only the birthplace of the world-famous Delftware but also a very beautiful city worth visiting in the Netherlands. For example, the historic center of Delft has been preserved since the 17th century! Old houses and narrow streets, canals and squares framed by picturesque buildings, museums and palaces, ancient churches — Delft is like a jewelry box and one of the most interesting places in Holland.

The Prinsenhof Palace with its magnificent collection of paintings, porcelain, and silver, the Old Church where you can listen to the organ, the Eastern Gate — all that remains of the former city walls, and the Town Hall — these are the places you should see first.

The Hague

The Hague will delight you with its colorful, modern appearance: here you can find old Dutch houses from the 17th century, magnificent baroque residences, and even elegant Art Nouveau structures and ultra-modern buildings like the Central Library. You can walk around the city and marvel at how these seemingly incompatible styles can coexist so naturally.

Moreover, The Hague is a treasure trove for history buffs. Binnenhof Castle, Ridderzaal, the Museum of the Inquisition (formerly the medieval prison Gevangenpoort), and many other museums with diverse themes.

Zaanse Schans

You can step into a real 18th-century Dutch village if you head to Zaanse Schans, located just half an hour's drive from Amsterdam.

Here, under the open sky, you’ll find all the most beautiful places in the Netherlands that you must visit: old houses along picturesque canals, shops styled as they were in the past where you can see how craftsmen of that era worked, and of course, traditional Dutch products: porcelain (including the famous blue Delftware), clogs, various cheeses, and national toys.

Alkmaar

If you don't have time to thoroughly explore the Netherlands, don’t be upset! Head to Alkmaar, as it has everything this region is famous for.

Want Dutch cheese? You got it! Alkmaar’s cheese markets will leave no cheese lover indifferent. Dutch windmills? There are eleven of them here. Want to relax on the beach? No problem, as the city is located right on the coast of the North Sea. And the fact that concerts and exhibitions are regularly held on Alkmaar’s central square (Canada Square), and that the city has many interesting shops, will only make it more popular among tourists choosing where to go in the Netherlands besides Amsterdam.

Edam

This small provincial town is noteworthy not only for its charming cozy landscapes. It is the birthplace of one of the most popular types of cheese. Therefore, to fully enjoy the process of purchasing this delicacy, we recommend leisurely strolling through the local cheese shops, sampling the cheeses you like, or visiting the special tasting room “Kaasproeverij Gestam” at Voorhaven, 127, where you can try several varieties of this cheese. Just be careful not to buy everything you see on the shelves, as it is impossible to resist such deliciousness!

West Frisian Islands

This chain of islands stretching along the coast of the Netherlands is definitely worth visiting. These islands are ideal for those who love long walks in nature, as almost all the islands (at least those accessible by ferry) are perfect for hiking and active recreation. For example, Vlieland is an island entirely made up of sand dunes and pine forests. The sound of the sea, the air filled with salt and pine aroma, and sand dunes stretching to the horizon — the best place to escape civilization.

On the island of Texel, you can not only enjoy active recreation but also visit Bird Island, a local nature reserve, and participate in the world’s largest catamaran regatta held in mid-June, or come in mid-October for the Blues Festival in Den Burg.

On Schiermonnikoog, you can have a great “wild” rest: here you’ll find kilometers of beaches (the widest in Europe, by the way) and many places where you can pitch a tent for a day or two. And at the same time, visit the National Ornithological Park to admire the local bird population.

You can book a hotel with a discount of up to 65% on the website.

De Hoge Veluwe National Park

This park is an excellent place for those who not only want to take a break from cities and usual entertainment but also want to get closer to nature in the Netherlands, and believe me, it's worth it! In De Hoge Veluwe Park, you can rent a free bicycle and explore its forests and dunes for an entire day. It’s one of the most interesting places in Holland.

And during a break, you can make a "cultural stop": the Van Gogh Museum is located within the park.

Kinderdijk

Windmills lined up along the canal to the horizon, with their winged reflections in the mirror-like water — this is Kinderdijk, a village where 19 real old windmills, symbols of the Netherlands, are still preserved. The mills are operational, and visitors can learn a lot about how they work. In the warm season, the mills look very picturesque in the twilight and pre-dawn mist, and in winter, when the canal freezes, you can skate next to these winged giants.
