1. BOOK IN ADVANCE... AND NOT ONLY
It has long been known that booking airline tickets early is the key to budget travel. According to statistics, it is most profitable to buy air tickets 8 weeks before the flight for domestic flights and 24 weeks before the flight for international flights. But agree, planning your trip several months in advance is a luxury for a modern person.
That is why there is an alternative (or rather, the second extreme) — buying air tickets just a day before departure. Sometimes carriers simply reduce prices as much as possible in order to somehow attract passengers and sell off the remaining tickets. But keep in mind that for the most "popular" flights there will most likely be no tickets on the last day.
2. FLY FROM MONDAY TO THURSDAY
Another very simple rule that will help you buy cheap air tickets: plan your trip in such a way that you spend your weekends abroad and fly during the week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are considered to be the most profitable days for flights.
But you can book tickets on any day except Friday: firstly, by the end of the week the economy class offers run out, secondly, secretaries usually book tickets for business trips of their managers on this day, thirdly, many people think about vacation on the eve of the weekend - well, adjust to the "rest" mood.
3. SLEEP ON THE PLANE
Another tourist trick is to travel at night. As a rule, night flights are cheaper than day flights (not without reason many low-costers fly at inconvenient times).
Only in this case, you should take into account the cost of cabs to the airport, because at night public transportation often does not work.
4. EXTEND THE SEASON
This advice applies not only to buying airline tickets, but also to planning a trip in general. Do not be tied to seasonality, and even more so to the "high season", because air carriers and hoteliers are very high on prices for those destinations that are popular among tourists in this or that period.
Cyprus is an excellent example of this. It is believed that the season here begins at the end of May and ends in September. But you will be surprised that at the beginning of May and even at the end of October (!) the weather here is perfect and you can swim. At the same time the prices for flights and accommodation in this "non-tourist" season are much lower.
5. KEEP AN EYE ON PROMOTIONS
We believe that searching for cheap airline tickets is a real magic, because prices change literally every second, every day some of the carriers launch a promotion or sell tickets at reduced prices, and we are not talking about the fact that low-cost carriers do not fly every day, which means that you need to keep track of their schedule.
In general, if you want to find really cheap airfare — don't be tied to specific dates and destinations. tripmydream regularly publishes all the best deals on flights at the moment. Often the more favorable the price, the faster all tickets are bought out, so in 1-2 days the offer is not relevant, so we advise you to keep a close eye on our promotions.
Also, when monitoring flights always look at prices for the next 3-4 days — sometimes the price can differ twice.
6. TRAVEL LIGHT
Many people know that low-cost low-cost airlines set low prices for tickets also because the price of their tickets does not include baggage allowance. It is paid separately and increases the price many times over. So, many regular airlines also have a reduced fare without luggage.
But for each additional suitcase you will be asked to pay extra, and a considerable amount. So — travel light!
7. SIGN UP FOR FARE CHANGES
Do you know where and when you want to fly, but you don't have tickets at a favorable price yet? Trust us ;)

When traveling around Europe, always check flights to nearby cities and secondary airports. You may be surprised, but this can help you save up to half of your travel budget.
For example, you can reach Brussels via Brussels Airport. Alternatively, you can fly to Brussels–Charleroi Airport, located 46 km from Brussels, where flights are often significantly cheaper (for example, a Wizz Air flight with a short layover in Vilnius).
9. BE CREATIVE
Many people know that flights with layovers are often cheaper than direct ones. However, there is a way to save even more — by manually combining flights yourself. Wizz Air offers low-cost flights from Budapest, Katowice, Warsaw, Wrocław, and other European cities. From these cities you can build a route with low-cost carriers — Wizz Air, Ryanair or Easy Jet.
10. DON'T OVERPAY FOR COMMISSIONS AND SURCHARGES
Buying tickets through agencies and intermediaries, you pay not only for the tickets themselves, but also for the cost of the agency itself. On tripmydream you can find tickets at the lowest price, without commission and surcharges.
