There are two ways to check in – online or at the airport.
Remember this golden rule: experienced travelers check in for their flights early and online. The main reason for this is that many airlines charge for airport check-in. To avoid extra fees, use online check-in. Most airlines open online check-in 24-48 hours before departure and close it 2 hours before the flight.

To check in, visit the airline’s website or use its app. You need to find the “Check-In” page. Enter your booking number and surname in the designated fields and follow the further instructions.
If you have an account on the airline’s website, you can log in to your Personal Account and check in there. You will receive a boarding pass – the main document needed for a successful boarding of your flight.
Often, an electronic ticket saved on your smartphone is sufficient. HOWEVER, if you are flying with a low-cost carrier, it’s a good idea to print your ticket just in case.

This is the first step you need to take upon arrival. Typically, check-in starts 2 hours before and ends 40 minutes before departure. Go to the check-in counter and present your passport, or head to the self-check-in kiosks and complete the process yourself. If you have luggage, check it in and proceed to passport and customs control.
And importantly – check your boarding pass for the gate number. Head to the gate and wait for your flight.
If you have already checked in online, you do not need to check in again at the airport. Head straight to the "drop-off" counters to check your baggage (if you have any), and then proceed to the security screening for your carry-on items.
Paid check-in for most airlines, including popular low-cost carriers like Ryanair and Wizz Air, opens up to 60 days before departure. However, the free check-in service is available only 24 hours before departure. You will receive a notification about this to the email address provided when you purchased the ticket.
