Terminals: arrivals and connections

The airport consists of 2 terminals, each of which serves specific airlines. Terminal 1 includes departure zones A, B, C, Z, Terminal 2 includes D and E. Your boarding passes for the next flight will indicate the zone you need. If you do not have a boarding pass, you can get one at one of the check-in counters in the transit zone or at the desk at the entrance to the flight, you can find out the gate you need on the information boards located in the lounges.

Frankfurt Airport is really huge, and don't be surprised that its employees ride around the terminals on bicycles or special cars. Be prepared that the transfer procedure will take quite a long time, so try to choose connections so that you have at least 1-1.5 hours for your transfer. Transfers in 40 minutes at Frankfurt airport are already equated to extreme.

If you have a really short gap between flights, you can use the SCSC emergency check-in service. A representative of your airline meets you at the exit of the airplane and accompanies you to SCSC, where you go through an expedited check-in, customs and border control. Then a special bus or car will take you to your flight. This service costs from €99 and must be booked in advance.

You can get from one terminal to another by Sky Line trains, which depart every 2-3 minutes. Travel on them is free, and can move both passengers from the transit area and visitors to the airport. The train stops are located on the 4th floor in both terminals, in the transit and passenger areas. Those who have left the transit zone can also travel between terminals on free buses that leave every 10 minutes.
