Bulgarian seaside resorts

Golden Sands

Golden Sands is a special resort. The thing is, it is part of the Golden Sands Nature Park, so here you can find forests, a picturesque coastline, and protected areas. There are hiking trails in the park itself, so when you get tired of sunbathing, you can go for a walk in the woods.

By the way, you will enjoy your beach vacation in Golden Sands. The resort has a wide coastline, and the beach here is sandy, with clean, golden sand, just like the name suggests. Prices for sun loungers and umbrellas are reasonable.

The resort is perfect for vacationers of all ages, but especially for young people. It is Bulgaria's most youth-oriented resort with a vibrant nightlife on the local party street and a large number of bars and clubs. Active vacationers will not be bored here either—there is a diving school, paragliding, and various water activities such as banana boats, "pillows," and jet skis. And for parents with children, there are plenty of children's entertainment and attractions.

Sunny Beach

Sunny Beach is Bulgaria's largest seaside resort, located 36 km from Burgas. You can't count on privacy here, but this resort has everything a vacationer could wish for! The resort has more than 800 hotels, an 8-kilometer beach line, numerous restaurants, clubs, a water park, excursions, and leisure activities for every taste.

The beaches of Sunny Beach have been awarded the Blue Flag, and it must be said that they fully deserve it. The sand here is fine and golden, and in the southern part of the beaches, you can see sand dunes. The entrance to the sea is gentle, which means that the resort is perfect for vacationers with children. There is also plenty of entertainment for every taste: active sports are available during the day, and numerous clubs open in the evening. If you plan to visit the ancient town of Nessebar, which is located nearby, we recommend staying in the southern part of the city.

You can book a hotel in Sunny Beach with a discount of up to 65% on the website.

Nessebar

Nessebar is one of the oldest cities on the Black Sea coast and in all of Europe. Since 1983, the Old Town of Nessebar has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Here, ancient medieval buildings and cozy beaches with rocks and golden sand blend harmoniously. Unlike the aforementioned Sunny Beach and Golden Sands, Nessebar is a more secluded and cozy town. It will appeal to those who love authentic European towns and a quiet vacation. However, if you want hustle and bustle and fun, Sunny Beach with all its clubs and parties is just a stone's throw away.

The town consists of two parts – Old and New. Most of the hotels, restaurants, shops, and other tourist infrastructure are located in the new part. The Old Town is home to the city's main attractions, the most important of which is the town itself. In the Old Town, you can see the ruins of 40 churches, some of which are well preserved. The oldest of these is the Basilica of Saint Sophia, which was built in the 5th-6th centuries.

What to do in Nessebar?

  • Visit the Church of St. Sophia, the oldest in the city
  • Visit the botanical garden in Balchik

Sozopol

Sozopol is a real gem on the Bulgarian coast. This ancient town has an impressive history: it was founded in the 6th century BC by Greek colonists and was formerly known as Apollonia. The town literally breathes history, and you can feel it as you stroll through its winding, cobbled streets and gaze at the old houses with red tiled roofs. Like Nessebar, this place is perfect for those looking for a quiet, peaceful vacation without any fuss. The Old Town of Sozopol is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You can book a hotel in Sozopol with a discount of up to 65% on the website.

There are two beaches in the city: Central Beach and Harmani Beach. Central Beach is located between the Old Town and New Town. The sand on the beach is sifted daily, the entrance to the water is gentle, and the water itself is clean. The beach also boasts good infrastructure. The main drawback of this beach is that it is very crowded: in the high season, there is no room to swing a cat.

Harmani is located in the southern part of Sozopol, closer to the New Town. There you will find a wide and well-equipped beach strip with fine sand.

What to do in Sozopol?

  • Walk around the Old Town, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Go on a boat trip to the mouth of the Ropotamo River. Where it flows into the sea, you can see swans and dolphins
  • Take a 1-2 day trip to Istanbul
  • Visit Nessebar
