1. Zatoka (Odesa region)

Everyone has heard about this legendary resort. Zatoka is popular quite deservedly because here there are all the components of an excellent sea vacation: clean sea, 20 kilometers of wide sandy beaches with a gentle entrance to the sea, about 200 resorts, guest houses and recreation centers, and a wide range of entertainment for every taste, and most importantly - pleasant and affordable prices.

The resort is located 62 kilometers from Odesa, on the Budak Spit, which divides the Black Sea and the Dniester estuary. The bathing season lasts from the end of May to the beginning of October.

Zatoka consists of two districts - Sunny and Central. Many people refer to it as Limansky (Karolino-Bugaz), but we will talk about it separately, as it is an independent resort unit.

  • Sunny. The district is located closer to the estuary, so the water here is a little more turbid. The beaches are narrower than in the Liman district, but there are not so many people here. This area will suit those who are looking for something in between a quiet vacation in Limansky and partying in the Central district.
  • Central district - the busiest area with good infrastructure: market, walkway, stores, and a large selection of recreation centers and housing. The beach here is not as spacious as in Bugaza, there are more vacationers, which means that at the height of the season on the beach there is nowhere for the apple to fall. However, this area is ideal for those who crave fun and are ready to combine beach and nightlife.

In the private sector you can rent a room without amenities from 150 hryvnia, with amenities - from 350 hryvnia per day per person.

About what to do and where to go from Zatoka we told in detail in this article.

The disadvantages of Zatoka include polluted air: a busy highway and a railway line run along the spit.

What to see nearby?

  • Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi fortress - the largest fortress on the territory of Ukraine;
  • Chabot Wine Culture Center - the only complex in the country that combines a working winery, ancient wine cellars, a museum of wine and winemaking, a modern art exhibition and a tasting room;
  • water park "Odesa" at the 7th kilometer of Ovidiopol road;
  • Odesa itself - it doesn't need any extra introductions;
  • Vylkove - it's a long way there, but since you are in the Odesa region, why not combine it.

How to get to Zatoka:

  • By train to Bugaz station. Trains (including those from Kyiv) and trains from Odesa stop there;
  • by bus from the capital and other cities. In addition to regular flights in the season, additional flights are launched;
  • by bus or shuttle bus from Odesa (from 50 hryvnias);
  • by car through Odessa. From Kyiv, the resort is separated by 530 kilometers, from Kharkiv - 770, from the Dnipro - 630.

Karolino-Bugaz is considered by many to be a part of Zatoka, but in fact it is an autonomous resort. Karolino-Bugaz is located 51 kilometers from Odesa and is suitable mainly for families with children. Young people may be bored here, as there is no nightlife as such.

The bathing season lasts from the end of May to mid-September.

In the private sector you can rent accommodation for 100-150 hryvnia, a room with amenities costs from 250 hryvnia per person per day. A cottage will cost you up to 5,000 hryvnia per day.

Beaches in Karolino-Bugaz are sandy, wide (about 100 meters) and cleaner than in Zatoka. Most of all holidaymakers are usually on the beach located near the road leading from the center of the village. Here are also based classic marine entertainment: catamaran and boat rentals, riding on "bananas" and jet skis. If you want privacy, we advise you to choose the beach in the north of the resort - there are fewer people there.

Children's and sports grounds, cafes and discos are located mainly on the territory of hotels and resorts, which are not very many. For shopping you can go to Zatoka, where there are buses, shuttles and trains.

The resort has the same disadvantage as Zatoka - the highway and railway line passing through the resort.

What to see nearby?

  • Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi fortress - the largest fortification on the territory of Ukraine;
  • Chabot Wine Culture Center - the only complex in the country that combines a working winery, ancient wine cellars, a museum of wine and winemaking, a modern art exhibition and a tasting room;
  • Nemo Dolphinarium in Odesa;
  • Water park "Odesa" at 7 kilometers of Ovidiopol road.

How to get to Karolino-Bugaz:

  • By train to Karolino-Bugaz station. Trains (including those from Kyiv) and trains from Odesa stop here;
  • by bus from the capital and other cities. In addition to regular flights in the season additional flights are launched;
  • by bus or shuttle bus from Odesa (from 50 hryvnias);
  • by car through Odesa. The resort is separated from Kyiv by 520 kilometers, from Kharkiv - 760, from the Dnipro - 620.

3. Zaliznyi Port (Kherson region)

An excellent choice for young people and all lovers of noisy and fun vacation! Here vacationers are waiting for wide sandy beaches, a lot of entertainment, about 300 hotels, resorts and recreation centers. The resort is considered environmentally friendly, as there are no industrial enterprises, busy highways and ports in the city and near it.

Prices here are more than budget: you can rent accommodation in the private sector for 80-200 hryvnia, a room without amenities costs 150-250 hryvnia, with amenities - 250-500 hryvnia per person per day.

Beaches are free of charge, sandy with an admixture of small shells, the entrance to the water is gentle. For those who except standard entertainment craves something new there is a diving center, where you can rent equipment and be trained.

In addition to cafes, restaurants and stores in Iron Port there is an aqua park and a luna park. There are also recreation areas equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas for rent.

But to the minuses of Iron Port can be attributed to the fact that the beaches are quite dirty. During storms, the water throws algae on the shore, and the vacationers themselves often make their contribution by leaving garbage. There are few containers, they are concentrated in the areas where sun loungers are placed.

What's a trip to the sea without a million photos on the beach, in the sea, in the pool with a cocktail and a dozen other places? No need to be shy, let the world know that you are on vacation! Moreover, all the places mentioned in this article have 4G from Kyivstar, which means that you can quickly and easily share your photos and videos on social networks.

What to see nearby?

  • Dzharylgach Island is one of the largest in Ukraine. Its length is more than 40 kilometers, width - from 100 meters to 5 kilometers. Here you can relax on one of the wild beaches or go diving. By the way, about Dzharylgacha we told in detail in this material;
  • healing geyser, treatment with its waters is shown in diseases of the musculoskeletal system, thyroid gland and nervous system;
  • biosphere reserve "Askania Nova". On the territory of about 33,000 hectares of untouched steppe, here live about 3,000 species of animals (bison, antelopes, ostriches and others) and grows about 500 species of rare plants;
  • Black Sea Biosphere Reserve. It occupies an area of more than 100,000 hectares, including several islands. Here you can see about 600 species of plants and 400 species of vertebrate animals.

How to get to Zaliznyi Port:

  • By train or bus to Kherson and then by bus from the Railway Station or bus station (from 110 hryvnia);
  • by bus from the capital and other cities. In addition to regular flights in the season, additional flights are launched;
  • by car. From Kyiv, the resort is separated by 640 kilometers, from Kharkiv - 680, from the Dnipro - 400.

4. Skadovsk (Kherson region)

It is a port and resort town on the shore of Dzharylgach Bay of the Black Sea, 94 kilometers from Kherson. Skadovsk combines affordable prices, sandy beaches, clean sea and healing air - the main components of a successful sea vacation in Ukraine.

The bathing season lasts from May to September.

You can rent accommodation without amenities for 150-250 UAH ($ 150-250), a room with amenities - for 200-500 UAH ($ 200-500) per person per day. Renting a one-room apartment will cost 450-750 hryvnias, houses on the coast - from 1 500 hryvnias/day.

The beaches are mostly free. On the city beach, located near the seafront, there are shelters, changing cabins, toilets and trash cans. It is always crowded, so sometimes dirty.

Infrastructure is developed, restaurants and entertainment are concentrated on the seafront. There is a water park "Aquatoria", dolphinarium "Aquarelle", amusement park "Treasure Island", for sports fans there are tennis courts and kiting school. Well, and, of course, ride a "banana", fly a parachute or rent a catamaran you are also offered here.

Minuses:

  • The coast near the port is polluted, including fuel;
  • in August the bay "blooms", temporarily becoming unsuitable for swimming;
  • the entrance to the water is gentle, the shallow water is long, so the bay is not suitable for adults in principle and for snorkelers in particular.

What to see nearby?

Skadovsk and Zaliznyi Port are very close by, so all the options we wrote about in the previous paragraph are relevant for Skadovsk as well.

How to get to Skadovsk:

  • By train to Kherson, and then by bus (2 hours, the ticket costs about 100 hryvnia);
  • by bus from the capital and other cities. In addition to regular flights in the season launch additional flights;
  • by car. From Kyiv the resort is separated by 650 kilometers, from Kharkiv - 630, from the Dnieper - 370.

5. Koblevo (Mykolaiv region)

We think many people's first association with the name of this town is not sea vacation, but wine. It is not surprising, because here is one of the most famous Ukrainian wineries - Chabot Wine Culture Center. However, Koblevo is not only rich in wine.

Located 56 kilometers from Odesa and 79 kilometers from Mykolaiv, the village is a wonderful place for a quiet sea vacation with your family. Clean sandy beaches, healing air (a mixture of sea breeze and the smell of pine needles from the forests in the neighborhood) and well-developed infrastructure make it one of the favorites among those looking for options for recreation with children.

Thanks to the special microclimate of these places, even the hottest days are much easier to bear than in the cities. The season starts at the end of May, although the water is still cool, around +18°C.

Budget accommodation can be found in the village of Koblevo, about an hour's walk from the beaches. Prices are higher on the coast. Accommodation near the sea without amenities will cost you 110-350 hryvnias, a room with amenities - 350-700 hryvnias per day per person. The cost of renting a cottage for six people - from 4 000 hryvnias per day. For those who are accustomed to resting "savage", there are guarded camping sites on the seashore, where for the opportunity to put up a tent charge about 60 hryvnias per day per person.

The length of the coastline is about 7 kilometers. In the western part of the resort, beaches are sandy, in the east - with an admixture of shells, all of them are free (you can rent a deck chair and umbrella for 50-80 hryvnia per day). The sea near the shore is shallow, the bottom is gentle.

Among the minuses of Koblevo we will note one - it can be dirty. On the beaches of resorts and hotels are regularly cleaned and sifted sand, but the cleanliness of the public vacationers often complain.

In the resort area there is an aqua park "Koblevo" and mini-aquapark "Orbit" on the territory of the same name recreation center, a dolphinarium "Nemo", luna park with attractions for children and adults, a "Rodeo-park" with a swimming pool, shooting gallery, volleyball court, rides and mini-golf.

Despite the fact that the resort is family-oriented, nightlife is also present here - there are several nightclubs and the Millennium Hall complex, where a movie theater and concerts are held.

What to see nearby?

  • Koblevo winery, which offers tasting tours;
  • Tiligulsky Landscape Park in Berezanka, where you can relax in silence or go fishing;
  • Tendra Island with deserted beaches, herds of wild horses and an ancient lighthouse;
  • the uninhabited island of Berezan, where there is the only surviving settlement in the Northern Black Sea coast from the times of Greek colonization. Some researchers believe that Berezan is the prototype of the island of Buyan from "The Tale of Tsar Saltan".

How to get to Koblevo:

  • By train or bus to Odesa or Mykolaiv, and then by bus (50-60 hryvnia);
  • by bus from the capital and other cities. In addition to regular flights in the season launch additional flights;
  • by car. From Kyiv the resort is separated by 520 kilometers, from Kharkiv - 650, from the Dnieper - 400.

6. Lazurnoye (Kherson region)

This resort with a picturesque name is perfect for both family and youth vacation. In the local private sector you can rent a house, closer to the first line there are several hotels and resorts, camping and student recreation center "Mayak". Literally in walking distance from Azure is the island of Dzharylgach, where you should definitely go if you find yourself in Azure.

Azure beaches are sandy, the entrance to the water is gentle and very smooth, and the depth of the shore is very shallow, without sharp drops, which makes the beach ideal for vacations with children. The coast is covered with sand and large shells. The water is clean, here you can often see dolphins. But there is one nuance: in the second half of July-August jellyfish appear here.

The resort season starts in June when the sea water warms up to +18...+20°C, and ends in October.

What to see nearby?

  • Of course, Dzharylgach Island, we have already told you about it above;
  • Askania Nova Biosphere Reserve. On the territory of about 33,000 hectares of untouched steppe, about 3,000 species of animals (bison, antelopes, ostriches and others) and about 500 species of rare plants live here;
  • Aleshkovskie Sands - the largest sand massif in Europe.

How to get to Lazurne:

  • By train to Kherson and then by bus (travel time - 2 hours, the ticket costs about 100 hryvnia);
  • by bus from the capital and other cities. In addition to regular flights in the season, additional flights are launched;
  • by car. The resort is 650 kilometers from Kyiv, 630 from Kharkiv and 370 from the Dnipro.

7. Kyrylivka (Zaporizhzhia region)

The resort on the Azov Sea, which includes the villages of Kirillovka and Stepok, as well as Peresyp Spit and Fedotova Spit. Kyrylivka is a place with the cleanest air and good ecological situation: there are no railroads and busy highways, ports, there are no large industrial cities nearby, which guarantees the purity of water and air. In Molochny and Utlyukskiy estuaries extract healing mud, which is used for treatment of patients in local sanatoriums.

A room in the private sector can be rented for the sum from 100 hryvnias, a room with amenities in the average from 150 to 350 hryvnias, a cottage - from 600 hryvnias per day per person.

Entrance to most beaches is free, only the rent of sun beds and umbrellas is paid. The most crowded and, accordingly, dirty - the village beach in the center of Kirillovka, in search of silence we recommend you to walk to Peresyp and Fedotova spit. Bonus - the farther from the mainland, the cleaner it is.

Kyrylivka

Kyrylivka is considered to be one of the best resorts in Ukraine. There is a water park "Treasure Island" (at the entrance to Fedotova Spit), a dolphinarium "Oscar" (opposite the water park), an amusement park "Kyrylivka Sich" with equestrian theater, a climbing wall, a trolley and rope courses, amusement parks, children's playgrounds, discos, and nightclubs.

What to see nearby?

  • Biryuchy Island is a part of Fedotova Spit. On its territory, there are Azov-Sivash National Nature Park and a lighthouse;
  • Khortytsia (Zaporizhzhia) - the largest island on the Dnieper, where the historical and cultural complex "Zaporozhian Sich" is located;
  • Zaliznyi Port ("Ukrainian Stonehenge") - a unique complex of caves and grottos, the walls of which are decorated with images of unknown origin;
  • ostrich farm in the village of Strilkove.

How to get to Kyrylivka :

  • by train or bus to Melitopil, and then by minibus (40-45 hryvnia) or cab;
  • by bus from the capital and other cities. In addition to regular flights in the season launch additional flights;
  • by car. From Kyiv the resort is separated by 700 kilometers, from Kharkiv - 475, from the Dnipro - 275.

8. Berdyansk (Zaporizhzhia region)

Another rather large sea resort on the Azov coast. It differs from the neighboring Kyrylivka, first of all, by its size: Berdyansk is a rather large city with a population of about 115 000 people.

The city consists of three districts - Nagirnyi, Nizhny and Berdyansk spit. Let's say right away that we do not advise you to look for housing in Nagirnyi, as it is located far from the sea and there is industry within its limits. The lower district is something in between - there are mainly office and administrative buildings, but there are also entertainment facilities. Here begins the coastal zone, which smoothly passes into the protected Berdyanskaya Spit, going into the sea for 23 km.

The season starts in the middle of May, when the water near the shore warms up to +20°C (in July its temperature reaches +30°C), and ends in September.

You can rent a room for 100-500 hryvnias per person per day. Renting a one-room apartment costs 500-600 hryvnia, a cottage - 3 000-5 000 hryvnia per day.

The beaches are sandy, with a gentle entrance to the sea, mostly free of charge. The most crowded and dirty one is the Central one, located near the embankment. The best infrastructure can boast of the city beach "Slobidka", where in addition to standard entertainment there is an amusement park. The beaches on the spit are considered an ideal place for rest, however, the farther from the mainland, the less entertainment (and people).

In Berdyansk there is a water park "Cape of Good Hope" (one of the largest in the south of Ukraine), dolphinarium "Nemo", zoo "Safari", on the beaches are attractions (riding on jet skis, "bananas", etc.).

Berdyansk beckons vacationers warm sea, sandy beaches, healing air (rest here is recommended to asthmatics, allergy sufferers, as well as those who often catch colds). But the resort also has disadvantages. Due to its size and the presence of industry Berdyansk can not boast of such cleanliness as Kyrylivka.

What to see nearby?

The city has a port, industrial enterprises, railroad and busy highways, so you can't call it environmentally friendly. People come here mainly because of the developed infrastructure.

Interesting places:

  • funny sculptures decorating the streets of Berdyansk: a monument to an envious toad, a bull-feeder, a plumber and others;
  • local lore, art and history museums;
  • Schmidt's house-museum;
  • Khortytsia (Zaporizhzhia) - the largest island on the Dnieper, where the historical and cultural complex "Zaporozhian Sich" is located;
  • Zaliznyi Port ("Ukrainian Stonehenge") - a unique complex of caves and grottos, the walls of which are decorated with images of unknown origin.

How to get to Berdyansk:

  • By train;
  • by bus. In addition to regular flights in the season launch additional;
  • by car. From Kyiv the resort is separated by 715 kilometers, from Kharkiv - 500, from the Dnipro - 285.

9. Genichesk (Kherson region)

It is a resort port town on the coast of the Azov Sea. It is located opposite the Arabatskaya arrow and is connected with it by a highway bridge across the strait.

The shallow sea in Genichesk already by the middle of May warms up to +18°C, and in summer - up to +25...+27°C. In September the "velvet season" begins.

In the private sector you can stay for 90-150 hryvnia, a room without amenities costs 150-250 hryvnia, with amenities - from 250 to 450 hryvnia per person per day. One-room apartment in the center can be rented for about 500 hryvnia per day.

The beaches are sandy with a mixture of shells, starting from the village of Pridorozhnoye, where the entrance to the water is precipitous (on the territory of the resort these precipices are artificially smoothed). Some beaches are equipped with awnings, changing cabins and sun beds, others are devoid of these signs of civilization. Cleaning is not done often enough, so the coast is polluted.

In the city there are many nightclubs and discos, in season there are also beach clubs and bars. Fans of noisy parties will definitely not get bored here.

What to see nearby?

  • Arabatska arrow: water park, dolphinarium, ostrich farm and thermal springs;
  • near Genik is one of the Ukrainian pink lakes, we told you how to get there in this article;
  • Askania Nova Biosphere Reserve (about 90 kilometers from Genichesk). On the territory of about 33,000 hectares of untouched steppe, here live 3,000 species of animals (bison, antelopes, ostriches and others) and grows about 500 species of rare plants.

How to get to Genichesk:

  • by train to Novoalekseevka, and then by electric train (about 10 hryvnias), shuttle bus (about 10 hryvnia) or by cab (100-150 hryvnia);
  • by electric train from Dnipro;
  • by bus. In addition to regular flights in the season, additional flights are launched;
  • by car. From Kyiv the resort is separated by 750 kilometers, from Kharkiv - 500, from the Dnipro - 310.

10. Chornomorsk (Odessa region)

Chernomorsk is the second largest resort in Odesa region, located only 20 kilometers from Odesa. This place is great if you want to have fun on your vacation, but also swim in a cleaner sea than right in Odessa. There is a great choice of cafes, bars and clubs, and if you want to go out with a bang or you get bored with the measured pace of the resort town, you can always go to Odessa, which is 20-30 minutes away from Chornomorsk.

The season lasts from May to September. The sea in summer warms up to +23...+25°C.

A separate pride of the resort is the beach. Despite the proximity of the port, the water here is the cleanest, for this the city beach even received the award "Blue Flag". Here you can stay in a rather unusual accommodation - boathouses. These are former buildings for storage and repair of boats, which have been converted into rooms.

What to see nearby?

  • Odesa - how can you not mention the "pearl by the sea"? Be sure to take some time to visit this beautiful city.
  • Chabot Wine Culture Center - stop by for a tasting at one of the most famous Ukrainian wineries.
  • European Cheese Factory - there is another delicious place there in Chabot - a cheese factory where cheeses are made according to Dutch technology exclusively with Dutch sourdough starter.
  • Sanzheika or Gribovka - very close to Chornomorsk are two towns with incredibly photogenic beaches, which with their slopes remind the Portuguese Algarve coast.

How to get to Chornomorsk:

  • By train to Odesa, and from there by bus from the bus station "Privoz" or "7th kilometer". Buses leave every 15 minutes.
  • By car. From Kyiv to Chernomorsk is 501 kilometers, from Kharkiv - 686 km, from the Dnipro - 487 km.
