Guide to Blanes

Blanes is located on the Mediterranean coast just 60 km from Barcelona. It is easy to recognize Blanes, even approaching it from the sea. In the middle of the town there is a cliff with a medieval castle on top. On the south side of the cliff is the tourist part of the city with hotels, beaches and stores, and on the north side are the port and houses of local residents.

In Blanes there are many architectural monuments preserved from different periods of the Middle Ages. The town itself is over 1000 years old and it is difficult to say exactly when it was founded. The combination of mountainous terrain and maritime climate gives Blanes a romantic atmosphere reminiscent of the times of the knights.

There are many beaches around Blanes, sandy and pebble, very clean and equipped with everything you need for recreation. Most beaches have playgrounds and slides for children, as the resort is largely family-oriented. There is also a variety of water activities, from catamarans to diving. And in the port of Blanes there are many yachts moored in the harbor, on board of any of which you can take a fascinating boat trip.
