How to get to Yerevan from the airport

Learn how to get from Zvartnots airport to the center of Yerevan, railway or bus station: types of transport, their cost and where to buy a ticket.

The international airport of Yerevan "Zvartnots" is located in the western part of the capital 12 kilometers from the center. The annual passenger turnover of this airport is more than 2 million people.

How to get to the city center

The trip to the center will take you 20-25 minutes (by cab or transfer) and about half an hour by public transport.

Public transportation

If you want to not only save money but also feel the real Armenian flavor, take a bus or a shuttle.

  • Transportation stop is next to the terminal on the right side.
  • Where to buy a ticket:
    • - Bus. Use the terminal located on the bus and pay the fare with your bank card, or you can pay cash to the driver. The price includes transportation of luggage.
    • - Shuttle cab. Payment is made to the driver.

On the way to the city, the bus stops near Parakar and Argavand settlements, the Central Bus Station, near Mashtots Avenue, Stepan Shaumyan School, near the National Academic Theater, and at Yeritasardakan metro station.

  • Trip time: 40 minutes.
  • Travel schedule: from 07:00 to 22:00 every half hour, and from 22:30 to 07:00 every hour.
  • Fare: AMD 300.
  • Stop: next to the terminal building.

Moves towards the Barekamutyun metro station and around the outskirts of the city.

  • Transit frequency: every 20 minutes.

Helpful Tip! Shuttle cabs are very popular transportation in Yerevan and, consequently, very crowded. If you are arriving with a lot of things or small children, it is better to choose a bus or cab.

Metro

Yerevan has a well-developed metro system. From the airport to the metro station "Barekamutyun" follows Route #107. Then you can quickly get to the center (Republic Square station).

  • Fare: 100 AMD.
  • Opening hours: from 06:30 to 23:00.
  • Train frequency: every 7-10 minutes.

Transfer

The fastest and most comfortable ride is by transfer, where you can book the service in advance.

Cost: from 10 USD per person or 20 USD per car (gettransfer.com).

Taxi

You can use city cab services at yerevantaxi.com, as well as KiwiTaxi Armenia.

Cost: from 17 USD per car. The price depends on the class of car, number of passengers, and special wishes of the client (e.g. child seat). The cost will not depend on traffic jams.

Tip! No one has canceled Armenian hospitality, don't be afraid to bargain with cab drivers.

Renting a car

To get from Yerevan airport to the city, you can use a car rental service. It is best to book a car on a website (e.g. Rentalcars) before you fly to Yerevan.

The train station can be reached by cab, shuttle, or public transportation.
