Chile has about 125 airports, 8 of which have international status. They serve many major cities of the country, including Santiago, Concepcion, Punta Arenas and others.
All airports in Chile have the necessary infrastructure for travelers. In most of them you can find comfortable lounges, ATMs, stores, restaurants and other facilities. By looking at the location of the arrival airport on the map, you can lay out in advance the best route to the desired settlement.
Chile has a high level of ultraviolet radiation, so it is not recommended to neglect sunscreen. Smoking and drinking alcohol in a public place is considered at least bad taste, and in some cities is punishable by a fine.

The largest airports in Chile
When planning a trip to the country, a list of its largest air terminals comes in handy:
- Santiago (named after Arturo Merino Benitez). Chile's main air harbor. More than 15 million passengers pass through this large airport every year. It is located on the territory of the commune of Pudahuel, 15 km from the center of the capital city of Santiago.
- Carriel Sur. The second largest airport in Chile, with an annual passenger traffic of about 1.6 million. It is located in the municipality of Talcahuano, 8 km from the center of the city of Concepcion.
- Punta Arenas (named after Carlos Ibáñez del Campo). This Chilean airport is capable of handling about 1.3 million passengers per year. It is located 20 km from the city center of Punta Arenas.
