Estonia's largest airports
The largest and main airports in Estonia in this country are as follows:
- Tallinn Airport. This international airport is nowadays considered to be the largest in the country. It can easily serve almost two million people per year. This complex of facilities can easily accommodate various large and medium sized airplanes.
- Tartu. Tartu is the second largest Estonian city in terms of its size and total population. Its airport was built back in 1946. Today, among all airports in the country, Tartu takes the honorable second place.
- Pärnu. This airport, built in 1939, stands near the city called Pärnu. When Estonia became part of the USSR, Pärnu airport was used as a military airfield. Years later, the reconstruction of the entire complex of facilities began. Nowadays, the airport is the third largest in the country, with regular flights within Estonia and connections to Sweden.
