Bus tours
A bus tour of Strasbourg is not popular. If only because the central part of the city, which sits on an island surrounded by the waters of the Ile River, is a pedestrian zone. But you can take a sightseeing tour of Strasbourg on a river streetcar.
Sightseeing Tours
The standard sightseeing tour lasts a little over an hour, while the shortened version takes about 45 minutes. During this Strasbourg excursion, visitors explore the city’s main attractions: the “Covered Bridges,” the “La Petite France” district, the Notre-Dame Cathedral, and many others. Headphones are available, offering a translation of the guide’s commentary.
The cost of a tour in Strasbourg depends on its duration — on average, from 25 to 40 EUR or more, especially for private guided tours.
It’s unclear whether tours are organized inside Strasbourg’s famous European institutions. However, in theory, it is possible to visit the headquarters of the European Court of Human Rights, the Council of Europe, or the European Parliament by registering in advance.
If you happen to be in the city during the Christmas season, be sure to dedicate a day to visiting the famous Christmas Market.
