Structure, destinations and routes
The bus station in Dortmund was opened in March 2012, located between Steinstraße, Kurfürstenstraße and Quadbeckstraße. Previously, it was located at a different location, but also close to the main train station.
In Dortmund, the ZOB bus station is a key hub for European and regional bus services, providing connections to airports, other German cities and neighboring regions. The station is also connected to the Hauptbahnhof, making it a convenient part of the city's transportation infrastructure.
From the Dortmund bus station, there are international connections to the Balkan countries - stops such as Bijeljina, Brčko, Doboj, Modrić and Sarajevo. Other popular destinations include Cologne, Frankfurt, Berlin and Brussels.
There are direct connections to Cologne/Bonn and Frankfurt am Main airports. Waiting intervals vary greatly, depending on the destination and carrier. It is better to check the current information directly on the websites of operators such as Flixbus, Eurolines, Union Ivkoni or Sindbad.
Services and infrastructure
Dortmund Bus Station is a modern pavilion complex with 13 platforms, 9 of which are used for boarding and disembarking passengers.
There is an area with ticket offices, waiting rooms and toilets. This area is operated by Touring/Eurolines. Look for up-to-date information on services and opening hours on their official website. The opening hours of the kiosk and restrooms may differ from the ticket office.
There are also information stands in the pavilion. You can use vending machines and e-Ticket terminals at the train station. There are also lockers and ATMs there. Wi-Fi covers the train station and the bus station.
The bus station itself has only a kiosk, but there are several cafes nearby. Keep in mind that there is no full-fledged shopping area here, so if you need something - buy it in advance.
For short-term parking of cars there is a parking lot right in front of the bus station on Steinstraße. It has 53 spaces, including spaces for people with disabilities and for families with strollers. Also next to the bus station are the multi-level parking lots "Alte Post" and "Cinestar".
