Muslim holidays are celebrated according to the lunar calendar:
- Eid al-Fitr (Uraza Bayram) is a three-day celebration of the end of Ramadan, usually in early July.
- Eid al-Adha (Eid al-Adha) is a four-day celebration of the end of Hajj, or the month of pilgrimage to Mecca.
- The first day of the month of Muharram is the Islamic New Year.
- Eid al-Isra wal-Miraj is the Ascension of the Prophet Muhammad.
- Al-Mawlid al-Nabawi is the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, celebrated in April.
