Caesarea's Top Attractions
Today, within the territory of this ancient city, you'll find the National Park Reserve "Caesarea". Archaeological excavations are still actively ongoing here, including underwater exploration due to changes in sea levels.
The Bath is a large complex with impressive finishes that occupies more than half of one of the Byzantine-period structures. It was most likely built after Herod's amphitheater ceased to function.
The port - also appeared in Herod's time. It was joined by an outer harbor with a breakwater 400 meters long, as well as an inner harbor and waterfront. Today you can still see the harbor, but it was built in modern times, after the establishment of the State of Israel.

The Hippodrome was once the site of the famous chariot races in history. The structure was erected in the 2nd century AD. At that time, the hippodrome had 30,000 seats for spectators.
The Upper Aqueduct - This aqueduct carried drinking water to Caesarea from Ein Shomi during the Roman and Byzantine eras. The aqueduct approached the city at a height of approximately 8 meters above sea level.
Lower Aqueduct - helped deliver water from an artificial reservoir that was constructed by damming the waters of the Crocodile Creek.
