Malaysia's basic customs regulations.

According to Malaysia Customs, there is no limit to the amount of currency you can bring in and out of the country. The only thing is that the equivalent of MYR 5,000 must be declared.

If you're wondering what you can bring into Malaysia on an airplane, the list of items includes:

  • Cosmetics and perfumes not exceeding MYR 200
  • gift items not exceeding MYR 200
  • electronics and household appliances, but no more than one item per person
  • 50 cigars, 200 cigarettes or 225g of tobacco

If you need to know how much alcohol you can bring into Malaysia, it cannot exceed one liter of hard liquor and one liter of wine or liquor. However, how much alcohol you can take out of Malaysia is not regulated by law.
