The city has an extremely rich and ancient history, dating back to the time of the Celts, who founded the first settlements in the area. Since then, this territory has been ruled at different times by the Greeks, Romans and Visigoths, all of whom have left their mark on Ronda's modern appearance.
Hemingway, Rilke, Mérimée and other famous creative personalities have also left a part of their souls here.
Fortunately, the Spanish government is famous for its careful attitude to historical heritage, and therefore there are many reminders of the glorious ancient times. In addition, the city is considered the capital of bullfighting, so the oldest bullring in the country is a must when visiting Ronda and Spain!

6. Estella
Charming Estella is another important destination for pilgrims following the Way of St. James. The city was founded as an ancient Roman city, and later on, classical Spanish fortresses and cathedrals, such as the majestic San Miguel and Santo Sepulcro, sprang up here.
