Sipadan (Malaysia, Sulawesi Sea)

Sipadan is another wonderful place for diving. It was once praised by Jacques-Yves Cousteau himself. Having been here only once, in the late 80's, he stated unequivocally that this island is one of the best diving sites in the world. This tiny islet, 500 meters in diameter, is actually the tip of an extinct volcano sticking out of the water.

The local underwater kingdom is home to several hundred species of fish, as well as many polyps and coral. Even at shallow depths you can see some amazingly beautiful wildlife. Also in these parts there are breathtaking underwater caves. Keep in mind that no more than 120 people are allowed here per day, so it is better to book a swim in advance.
