Description of Nepal's attractions

Everest. The world's highest peak is located in the northern part of Nepal's Eastern region. This majestic peak attracts climbers from all over the world, although not everyone dares to climb it.

Annapurna. Nepal's second eight-thousandth peak is surrounded by a national park. Trekking ascents are carried out on the slopes of Annapurna. And some tour operators organize extreme ski trips for lovers of untouched slopes.

Chitwan National Park. This UNESCO heritage park is located 200 km from Kathmandu. There is a fee to enter the park, starting from 200 NHR. Many species of animals can be seen in the park, including the unique Bengal tigers. There are areas to settle, you can go canoeing and elephant riding.

Sagarmatha National Park. This protected corner of Nepal lies towards the northeast of Kathmandu. It is within this park that Everest is located, as well as the eight-thousanders Lhotse and Cho-oyu, as well as other mountains with lower altitudes. There are Sherpa settlements within the park where you can learn about their culture. It is home to pandas, snow leopards and many other species of animals. The park is popular with trekkers.

Bodhnath. One of the largest temple complexes in Kathmandu, with a Buddhist stupa in the center. The stupa was erected in the VI century, and the builders designed it as a three-tiered mandola. Tibetan monasteries and other temple structures of the complex diverge from this central prayer structure.

Pashupatinath. According to Hindu beliefs, one of the hypostases of the god Shiva is Pashupati, the King of Beasts. It is to him that the temple complex in the east of Kathmandu, one of the most important local shrines, is dedicated. It is the oldest temple in Nepal dedicated to Shiva. The central temple of the complex was built in the 19th century.

Danshikali. This temple is located in the southern part of Kathmandu valley and is quite difficult to find. The temple evokes heavy feelings with its gloomy, pressurizing atmosphere. And no wonder, because it is dedicated to the goddess Kali, one of the toughest deities in the Hindu religion.

Kumari Ghar. This temple serves as a home for the gods in the truest sense. The goddess Kumari, the living embodiment of the warrior goddess Durga, resides here. She is a girl of 3-5 years old chosen by the priests. She lives in seclusion in the palace with her servants until her body bleeds - as a result of growing up or from a trivial wound. Then the priests begin to look for a new Kumari, and the girl returns to the status of a mere mortal and accrues a pension of 80 USD. The palace of the little goddess was built in 1757. The building is constructed of brick and decorated with intricate carvings.

Balaju Water Garden. This unique structure is famous for its cascade of twenty-two fountains that create a real water extravaganza. The marvelous place was created in the eighteenth century, five kilometers from Kathmandu.

Bhaktapur. This city is entirely a UNESCO heritage site, as are Lalitpur and Kathmandu. Bhaktapur is famous for its workshops and adjacent souvenir shops. It is often referred to as the City of Craftsmen of Nepal.

Lumbini. This small city in southern Nepal is famous for being the place where Gautama Buddha is said to have been born.
