Almost all tourists visit ski resorts to explore new slopes, learn new tricks on skis or snowboards, discover new winter sports, or just ride the elevators.
Crans-Montana is a resort that welcomes skiers and snowboarders at any time of year. Even so, the snow cover will only be consistently large in winter. And in the early spring and late winter, it is very common for the resort to use gizzard snow in order to extend the winter season in Crans-Montana.
There are very few pistes for expert skiers. But there are excellent black runs on La Toula and Bella Lui. The length of the second ski slope of Crans-Montana is more than 2500 meters. Also very interesting skiing area for experienced skiers will be the Plaine-Mort glacier - a specific place with a lot of interesting chips. In addition, experts will be interested in the large 8-kilometer ski slope of Crans-Montana.
Crans-Montana is best suited for intermediate skiers, as the resort has the largest number of red runs. They are very wide and not difficult at all. So easy, in fact, that some of the red runs can be classified as blue runs.
The most famous of them is the Piste Nationale, a very flat piste with no unexpected climbs or anything else. It's a lot of fun because almost all of Crans-Montana's ski runs have an eastern exposure. This fact is almost the main advantage of Piste Nationale, because all the other slopes are eastern.
In addition, the 2400-meter piste from La Tza to Aminona, which is located in the Petit Bonvin area, is also well suited for such skiers.
For beginners, there are also a small number of quality pistes. Among these is the blue piste, which is more than 2,200 meters long and is located in Cry d'Er. But still, Crans-Montana is not really the place for first-time skiers.
