The UAE is a relatively young state, which was formed in 1972. It is not difficult to count that the state consists of seven emirates. If you are interested in the names of the regions of the UAE, then among them you can distinguish: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah. The main cities of the UAE regions have the same name.
However, this territorial division of the country can be called conditional, as there are no customs and fences between the regions of the UAE. Often it is not even clear where one emirate ends and another begins. At the same time, each of them has its own authority and laws.
The central region of the UAE is considered to be Abu Dhabi. On its territory is the capital of the state - the city of Abu Dhabi. This emirate is also considered to be the largest in terms of area. It also includes 200 islands fringing the Arabian Peninsula. This is where the largest oil deposits are located.
The second most important resort in Abu Dhabi after the capital, Al Ain is the only resort town in the country that is not on the coast. Its main feature is that it is built on an oasis. By UAE standards, there is a lot of greenery and beautiful scenery.
The southern regions of the UAE are represented by impassable desert. Here you can rarely meet tourists, as the infrastructure is not developed. In the east of the country there is a rocky plateau, which passes into the Hajar Mountains.
Moving sand dunes are found in the northern regions of the UAE. There are six other emirates in the northeastern part of the country. Their high level of hotel facilities, beautiful clean beaches and developed infrastructure attract millions of tourists here every year.
The largest financial, tourist and commercial center in the Middle East is Dubai. Even in ancient writings it was mentioned as a major trading city. Today, it is considered as the most important center of business and tourism.
The third largest city in the UAE is also located in this region. Sharjah is located on the Persian Gulf coast. It has grown in size a lot in recent years. The whole emirate of Sharjah is considered very religious. It is even forbidden to consume and sell alcoholic beverages on its territory. There are many historical, architectural and ethnographic sights here.
There is only one emirate in the eastern part of the country - Fujairah. Despite being considered the youngest, it has mind-blowing natural landscapes that will not leave experienced travelers indifferent. This emirate will be an ideal vacation destination for those tourists who prefer privacy and silence.
