Salt Lake

Who didn't know, not far from Kharkov there is its own Dead Sea! True, it's not that big, but the water here can also keep a swimmer on the surface. In addition, according to the locals, the water in the lake is therapeutic. But still, people come here more to have a rest from the city and be alone with nature.

Where is located: Antonovka village, Kegichevsky district.

How to get there: there is a Kharkiv-Kigichevka bus from the bus station on Gagarin Avenue. You should ask the driver to stop at the turn near Antonovka village, and from there you should walk 500-700 meters to the lake.

Homolshany forests

If you want to relax in nature, Homolshany is the best place for it. A unique protected park with oak groves, where you can easily meet forest animals, and lakes covered with water lilies - a day in Homolshany is a wonderful relaxation and a chance to get away from the city rhythm.

And lovers of antiquities will surely be interested in such interesting places of Kharkov region as: ancient settlements, Scythian mounds and ruins of Cossack monastery.

How to get there: Kharkiv-Zmiev bus № 316t runs from the Horse Market. We go to the terminus, then change to the bus to Komsomolskiy. We get off at the turn to the village Zadonetskoye.

Chalk mountains

This natural wonder is located in the Dvurechansky National Park, and it is far from being the only one here. Many species of animals and plants (among them many rare ones), pine forests and sandy beaches, mineral springs with drinking water - this very beautiful place will be interesting for both adults and children.

Important, as the park is located in the border zone, you should bring your ID cards.

How to get there: from bus station #6 take a direct bus to the village Dvurechnaya.

Kitsevskaya desert

Yes, yes, there is such a sight near Kharkov! Near the village of Kitsevka on the bank of the Seversky Donets you can feel yourself on another planet: everywhere you look there is a desert landscape with dunes and rare steppe grasses. And if you come here in early summer, you will find the desert blooming and drowning in the aroma of herbs.

How to go: from bus station number 6 by bus Kharkiv-Pechenegi to the stop Snezhinka (Kitsivka). Walk another 2 km.

Blue Lake

This lake and an unusual quarry are located in the village of Novoselovka. These interesting places in Kharkov region are man-made and are located on the territory of the mining plant, but brave tourists come here time after time to admire the snow-white sand on the background of sky-blue water and white rocks.

How to get there: by bus from bus station No. 1, as well as by train from South Railway or Levada station to Kvartsevy station.

Kharkiv Manors

Lovers of antiquity can make their own tourist itinerary of manors and other ancient attractions in Kharkiv and Kharkiv Oblast, and there are quite a few of them in the area.

These include the famous Sharovka, the majestic palace of the Shidlovskys in Stariy Merchik, the classical Kulikovskys' estate, and the Gothic palace in Gievka.

Most of the estates can be visited from the inside, it's just a pity that many of the buildings are in a poor state of repair.

Singing Terraces

This interesting and unique place, once the fruit garden of the landlord Kharitonenko, is now known for its unusual feature. In windy weather, the amphitheater garden makes melodious sounds, as if singing. And they also say that the acoustics here are amazing: even the quietest sounds can be heard up to 60 meters away!

But even without it, the singing garden is a wonderful picturesque and beautiful place in Kharkov region, where you can be alone with nature.
