There are many legends associated with Halong. The locals believe that this extremely beautiful area was created by a fabulous dragon, who first scattered large pearls around the bay as obstacles. After the Chinese invaders retreated, the dragon itself laid down in this place. The scales of the powerful body of this dragon are the famous islands protruding on the surface of the water.
To this day, locals can still find a lot of mystical things in the city. There are giant fairy tale creatures called "taraske". There is no exact date when Halong was founded, but today it is actively developing its infrastructure. After all, this place has long been loved by tourists from all over the world.
The population of Halong is 150,000. The national currency of Vietnam, and Halong in particular, is the dong (VND). This currency is one of the smallest in value in the world.
