One of the most expensive tours in Ho Chi Minh City with an English-speaking guide costs VND1 million. It's a trip outside the city - to Can Gio National Reserve. You'll visit Monkey Island and Bird Island, the Museum of Archaeology, canoe down a crocodile river and relax on a local beach.
A tour of the Mekong Delta is equally popular. It includes a visit to a handmade souvenir store, a coconut candy factory, the beautiful Vinh Trang Pagoda and a canoe or motorboat ride on the Mekong. The cost of the one-day tour is VND400,000.
Virtually all tours in Ho Chi Minh City include a visit to the 250-kilometer-long Kuti Tunnels. They were dug during the Vietnam-American War. Pay attention to the different cost of this tour: it ranges from 30,000 VND to 2 million VND. The fact is that the cheapest tours are partially paid for by local factories. For this, guides take tourists there on their way to the tunnels so that foreigners "make a bargain" for Vietnamese entrepreneurs.
There are no bus tours of Ho Chi Minh City. But a rickshaw or scooterist will happily take you around the city.
