How to get to Brussels from the airport

To travel from Zaventem Airport to the city center of Brussels, you have several options:

By Bus

You can take De Lijn express buses from the ground floor of the terminal. Here are some routes you can consider:

  • Bus #12 or #63. On weekends and at night (after 20:00), you can take #21. These buses will take you to Gare Central in the city center, and the journey typically takes about an hour.
  • There are also buses #359 (departing from platform A) and #659 (departing from platform B) that go to Roodebeek metro station. The travel time for these routes is approximately 20-25 minutes.

Cost: An hour ticket costs 3-3.50 EUR when purchased from special machines at the bus stop. If bought directly from the bus driver, the ticket price is 6 EUR. You can also consider a season ticket for 10 trips, which costs 25 EUR.

City bus in Brussels

Train

Zaventem Airport offers excellent rail connectivity. To reach the city center, follow these steps:

  • Take the train with the destination Brussels Airport - Zaventem - Charleroi-zuid (NMBS), and your stop will be Gare Central.
  • Trains operate from 6:00 to 24:00, with an average frequency of every 18-20 minutes. The journey typically takes around 20 minutes.
  • Depending on the class, a ticket to the center of Brussels costs between 2.60 and 4.10 EUR. You can purchase tickets from a special machine at the train station, which is located in the terminal on level -1.

Shuttle

  • The journey by shuttle cab usually takes about 20-35 minutes.
