Public transportation

Vancouver's transportation is considered to be a bit behind other cities in the country. That being said, public transportation in Vancouver is represented by trolleybuses, buses, an elevated subway line SkyTrain, the West Coast Express rail line, and the SeaBus ferry. Vancouver's extensive public transit network connects all areas of the city and is represented by the mainly by the state carrier TransLink. By the way, the transportation SkyTrain surface subway system is considered to be the world's longest automated transportation system.

Fare

Vancouver transportation prices depend on which zone the trip is made in. There are three zones in total, and a fare in them costs 63, 87, 120 CAD for a month respectively. In addition, every day after 18.30 the price of a ticket is reduced. The same rule applies on public holidays as well.

Transit tickets

If you bought a ticket for one zone, you can exchange it for a similar ticket for another zone and use it within 90 minutes. To avoid getting confused with transportation tickets in Vancouver, the advice for tourists is to buy a day pass.
