The minimum limit for a full-fledged vacation in Helsinki is 50 EUR per day (not counting accommodation in hotel or hostel). That's the figure we'll be basing our calculations on:
50 EUR per day per person.
With that amount of money, you can eat at Mc'Donalds or small cafeterias and visit one museum per day. For example, stock up on fries and burgers and head to Sveaborg Fortress (admission is about 10 EUR for adults and 5 EUR for kids). A great student vacation option for two in Helsinki.
100 EUR per day per person
Besides the economy meals and "cultural program" from the previous option, you can spend as much as 50 EUR on souvenirs, such as Finnish knitwear, knitted socks with reindeer or a soft Mummy troll. By the way, characters from children's books by Tove Jansson in Finland have the status of national heroes (there is even a theme park "Land of the Mummy Trolls" on the island of Kailo). As the reviews show, this is the most popular type of vacation in Helsinki among young people.
200-300 EUR per day per person
If you can afford such a budget, go for the restaurants (the average bill is up to 100 EUR), sample the local delicacies and stock up on gifts for friends. Of course, this is not the ultimate price of a Helsinki vacation - for daily visits to Michelin restaurants and shopping at Salakauppa, expect to pay 400 EUR or more.
