Burgas Airport is one of the largest air harbors in Bulgaria. It is also known as Sarafovo Airport. International and domestic transportation passes through the air station, including flights of more than 70 Bulgarian and foreign airlines. It is located in the Sarafovo quarter of Burgas, just 10 kilometers from its center.
The air terminal is equipped with 1 runway and several helipads. It serves mainly international tourist and charter flights. The main load is from the beginning of April to the end of October. Every year the airport receives about 3 million passengers, which makes it the second busiest in Bulgaria.
On the territory of the air terminal there is Terminal 2, which was opened in 2013. It has an area of more than 20500 m². It is a modern two-storey building, the design of which combines elements of Bulgarian architecture and nature. It houses 30 check-in desks, extensive departure and arrival areas, and modern passenger service systems.
