Largest airports in Iran
A list of the largest air stations in the country is offered for tourists' attention:
- Tehran (Imam Khomeini). The main international airport of Iran, annually serving more than 8.8 million passengers. It is located at a distance of 40 kilometers from Tehran, the capital of the country and one of the largest cities in Asia.
- Mashhad (Shahid Hasheminejad). A major airport, ranking second in Iran in terms of passenger numbers. About 6 million people a year pass through it. The airport is located within the city limits of Mashhad and is 10 km away from its center.
- Shiraz. An airport in Iran with an annual passenger traffic of more than 2.7 million passengers. It is located 9 km from the center of Shiraz, near the ancient ruins of Persepolis.
