Stuttgart Airport is an important aviation hub in southwestern Germany. It is the 6th busiest in the country, serving more than 10 million people annually. The air terminal was named in 2014 in honor of former Stuttgart mayor Manfred Rommel.

The airport acts as a hub for German low-cost carriers Germanwings and TUIfly. It also serves more than 60 airlines to 110 domestic and international destinations. The air station serves the city of Stuttgart, the capital of the German state of Baden-Württemberg, and is 12 km away from its center.

The airport has 4 passenger terminals:

• Terminal 1. The largest structure in size, which serves most flights.
• Terminal 2. It is characterized by small size and is used most often to serve departing Germanwings flights.
• Terminal 3. The second largest building, which is used to serve national and foreign carriers.
• Terminal 4. Located at some distance from the previous ones. It is used mainly for charter flights.
