Almaty International Airport holds the first place in terms of passenger traffic in the country. It is about 7 million people a year. The airport is located in the northern part of the largest city of Almaty, which used to be the capital of the state. Remoteness of the air station from the center is 15 km.
The airport is equipped with two runways. The airport terminal receives and departs daily about 180 flights, which are served by 18 airlines.
The airport has 2 terminals:
- Passenger. It consists of two floors. On the first one domestic flights are served, on the second - international flights.
- Cargo. It is equipped with heated warehouses, cold rooms and necessary equipment. It is used for acceptance, storage and dispatch of various cargoes.
Passengers are advised to familiarize themselves with the scheme of the terminal in advance.

How to pass the time
Almaty International Airport has several conference and business halls, a consular section and a post office. Passengers can withdraw money from ATMs and exchange currency. There is a medical center in the building, which can be contacted in case of need.
For the convenience of those traveling with children, there is a mother and child room. In it you can get care services for small travelers. Also in Almaty airport there are newspaper stands, duty-free store, prayer room, free Wi-Fi zone, souvenir stalls.
