Three major Latvian air harbors have international status:
Riga Airport is located 13 km from the city center. It is considered to be the largest in the country. It serves more than 7 million passengers annually.
Liepaja Airport has also been certified for international traffic after the modernization of the passenger terminal was completed.
The reconstructed airport in Ventspils is considered to be young. Since the conditions for certification of international air ports of the European Union are considered to be very strict, only private aviation and small airplanes operate there.
Riga International Airport is located not far from the capital. It has the status of the largest in the Baltic region. Conducts about a hundred flights a day. It is connected by air routes with more than 90 cities in different countries. It is considered to be the central hub of Latvian airline airBaltic. Air Baltic, SmartLynx Airlines, Raf-Avia and Wizz Air are considered the base airports of this airline.
Riga Airport is one big terminal, but it has 3 departure sectors:
A and B - serves flights to and from the Schengen area.
C - sends and receives non-Schengen airplanes.
It is difficult to get lost in it, as the geometry of the premises is almost straight.
